What are your plans for this Bank Holiday Weekend?
funbags87 replied to *Hipster*'s topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Moving house -
My 14 year old nephew was home alone, my sister recieved a text saying somebody was in the house. We raced down (only took 5 minutes) and found a scumbag in the kitchen, at the point my nephew was hid upstairs. He raced out of the side door and we confronted him on the drive, but then froze. He ran off and was never caught. In hindsight you kick yourself and we asked ourselves again and again why we weren't more prepared (armed with a bat or something) but to be honest you just freeze. This was only a month ago, my nephew still wont be home alone and my sister is still nervous whenever she walks into the house. These lowlifes don't realise that its not just 'stuff' they take, its peoples confidence and sense of security in their own homes aswell x

How much a week for a single person to eat reasonably healthy?
funbags87 replied to Green Web's topic in General Discussions
If everything was grilled or cooked using fry lite it could be a healthy meal, maybe not everyday though as variety is important plus you'd probably just get really bored and go and gorge on something unhealthy. -
what have i missed????

Hi, just a quick one, I found a phone at Westfield sports Center and handed it in at the main reception desk. Just thought id spread the word on here incase its owner or someone who knows the owner is a member. Hope it gets back to it's owner

So i was discussing this with a friend today and we were wondering why you can walk down the street or round the supermarket and smile at strangers if you make eye contact, yet when you're in the car sat at the lights or whatever eye contact with the driver next to you feels soooooooo awkward. Is it just me or does anyone else agree and have any kind of theory on the subject?

Just quickly putting the children and families to one side, i just want to say that i take my hat off to social workers. This program has really opened my eyes to what they do and i could never have a job like that with such a massive responsibility. Do you split a potentially good family up or do you leave a child with parents who can put on the 'good' parent act until they are behind closed doors. What a lot of work and reviews and decisions they have to make with such an impact at the end.
