  1. Hi all, I'm the original poster of this thread and after reading previous posts, i want to reply and also update you all on the progress of my stolen bike. There seems to be a very concerning issue here, hit and runs and people getting burgled or cars/bikes/accessories getting pinched. I have heard from a lot of people this last week that has gone through the same sickening ordeal, and the police have done nothing. It is very concerning and something needs to be done about this once and for all, the government really needs to start nipping this in the butt, because at the moment it seems that the criminal scumbags have a free for all at the moment. I've seen videos on youtube of dirty ugly looking scumbags blatently cutting through locked up bikes, with 100's of passers by, in full daylight and even people filming them do it without doing anything, then the scummy little gits ride off with it without a care in the world, this is because they know they're gonna get away with it. It's got to the point now that us law abiding people that work hard and save, save, save to buy something we would like to treasure for most of, if not the rest of our lives, can be taken in a heartbeat by these TW*TS without the police who we pay tax for, are not doing a damn thing. Also from the previous posts, it doesn't matter if it's a tenner or 10p, it's still theft., it's your property/belongings, not theirs. "SIGH" , rant over, just to update you now on my situation, bike got stolen on Monday 22nd January 2018, numerous calls to the ridiculous 101 number that keeps you on hold for 15 - 30 minutes, in-fact i called it Friday night cos i was drunk and angry (that's what booze does to you lol), i was on hold for 50 minutes until i put the phone down. Come on guys this is surely a **** take, anyway lo and behold Saturday afternoon i got a call from a guy from the police station, he asked about the cctv of which i told him yes i have it, i've had it since the day it happened, he then made excuses of why he didn't turn up for it, one of them was that he actually drove round where i work and couldn't find it, i tell ya if the police can't find an address then what hope have we got. Then he asked me if i could give the cctv footage to him Monday night, as he goes on nights then, and also he goes on holiday Tuesday which means nothing is gonna be done until he gets back !!!!!! WTF !!!!, this is a joke i really am lost for words right now. So sorry for the long post guys, at least it'll give you summat to read for a few minutes lol. All i can finally say is, i really feel for the guys that have had misfortunes due to moron sick drivers knocking people down and doing a runner, people having there stuff knicked with no help from the police so on and so on, it really makes you feel so alone, angry and helpless, we're on our own at the moment i'm afraid and can only hope victims can overcome the awful experiences put upon them by criminals, i hate to say it but the UK is a sh*t hole at the moment and i really am disgusted with the way us law abiding citizens are being treated by the law. Got a new bike now thanks to all the wonderful people at my work, they had a whip round which gathered a lot of money which enabled me to replace my stolen bike, god bless em all, i'm currently building a very loud alarm system and bought a very thick chain with multiple d-locks, i know it's still not gonna stop the thieving gits but by the time they get through the chain/d-locks with the alarm going off, i'll be outside beating em with a baseball bat, yes, yes, yes i know what your gonna say that's not the right thing to do, but when you've been through this expeirence i have, as well as many other victims, you would do the same. Anyhow lol, this finally is the end of the post, i want to thank you all for your support it is so appreciated, take care all and try to protect your stuff as much as you can, you're on your own. Regards, Mark
  2. Hi Isabelle, I think if you get your bike stolen nowadays it's gone for good, as for police help i'm afraid now it is virtually zero. I understand police resources are not like they used to be, but to be on hold for 10-30 minutes each time you ring 101 it's not good, not just that but the fact I've given them so much information and even have cctv footage from multiple angles of which they know about, I've had nothing from them, they just keep fobbing you off. I've not heard of the "Find My Bike" website before, i'll look into that. Thanks Isabelle, Mark
  3. biotechpete, yes I saw that myself after searching, sounds very dodgy doesn't it, I don't think it's mine though as that was posted October 2017, unless there's a way of manipulating post dates on ebay but I don't know, that does sound dodgy though. Thanks for having a search though I really do appreciate it. Regards, Mark ---------- Post added 24-01-2018 at 13:20 ---------- WarPig, the lock I had was a bike hut d lock from Halfords, but that wasn't cut through I used a cable to loop through the bike and through the d lock, it was the cable that was cut through. Well in the future I think maybe the d lock but with a thick chain also this time, if there is a next time. Regards, Mark ---------- Post added 24-01-2018 at 13:26 ---------- Just like to add still nothing from the police, this is as good as gone now, I was on hold for half an hour yesterday trying to speak to the police. I cannot believe how bad it is now when you have something stolen and the police don't do anything, I've had a few people telling me the same with stuff they've had pinched in the thousand of pounds and police have done nothing. I'm afraid the time is now to be a thieving criminal scumbag, because the police won't come for you, they can do whatever they want now knowing they'll be free to put peoples lives in misery, all your hard work saving for the things you want, can now be taken away with no justice to the thieves, sorry guys rant over lol but it's so not right. Kind Regards, Mark Dennison
  4. No, it's grey with orange bits, please see link to pic in my post. Thanks for replying appreciated. Mark
  5. Hi all, i know this is a very, very long shot but thought i'd try. My beloved Carrera Vulcan Electric Mountain Bike was stolen by a little scum bag yeserday, that being Monday the 22nd of January. Picture of the same bike her:- http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/electric-bikes/carrera-vulcan-electric-mountain-bike-16-18-20-22-frames?cm_mmc=Google+PLA-_-Bikes-_-Electric+Bikes-_-288636&istCompanyId=b8708c57-7a02-4cf6-b2c0-dc36b54a327e&istItemId=xprqtppait&istBid=tzpr&_$ja=tsid:94971|cid:905131600|agid:44817034933|tid:pla-351463871193|crid:213947972399|nw:g|rnd:977334834304874246|dvc:c|adp:1o1|mt:|loc:1006614&gclid=EAIaIQobChMItemr3tbu2AIVzbDtCh3RzwSBEAQYASABEgJKJfD_BwE Luckily i didn't leave the computer display on it so they can't power the thing up, rather hard to pedal without the motor enabled. It was stolen from work (Roman Ridge Road, Wincobank ), it was locked up outside our offices and got the little scroat on cctv, i have informed the police, yesterday and today and still nothing done by the police, that's why i'm posting here in the hope somebody out there knows anything about it. The kid looked about 14 - 15 Years old to me, wearing a camo jacket, black jeans and white or grey trainers, also had a black cap on. The bike also had a unique rear light on it built by myself, it has red led lights in the middle with two clear tubes at either side with orange led's for indicators, controlled by switches on the left side of the handle bars, also a little white box on the cross bar that contained the electronics for it, wrapped in a little plastic white bag to protect it from rain. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, if anybody has seen, heard or even knows anything about it, please contact me here or on my mobile: 07514-311501. Praying somebody has seen it, it cost a lot of money and took me months to save up for it. Kind Regards, Mark Dennison
  6. Most likely spotlights from some venue somewhere, they scan the sky in some sort of programmed formation. Mark
  7. Lots of very useful replies on here, we've had a few years now of them coming & going, had them in cupboards & generally roaming around the kitchen, occasionally in the house but mostly in the kitchen. Best we've done & not seen them for over a year now is:- Ant bait traps, leave them in areas you might think or spotted them coming in at, also i know it's tempting to keep killing the ones you see running about but don't, once you have the traps in place leave them to run about & find their way back to their nest, they will then feed the poison back at the nest & to the queen. Also as mentioned in previous posts, fill any gaps or holes in skirting boards with sealer or something, this is where we have found them coming in. Once all this is done you should not see them for a while, although you might find after a few months they return, if this is the case then repeat the above steps & eventually they should get the message they're not welcome. Hope you get rid of them anyway, good luck. Regards, Mark
  8. lol, just make sure you've got life insurance for him lol. Regards, Mark
  9. P.S. Let me know how you get on. *** WARNING *** Please do not leave the tv plugged in if you're going to have a look yourself, also there's high voltage capacitors that will still hold charge & can give you a nasty shock !!!! So please take care as if you don't know what you're doing it can be very dangerous, i hold no responsibilty if you injure yourself. Regards, Mark
  10. Definitely could be a capacitor that needs replacing, the psu's have detection circuits that will shutdown if something is wrong, type the model number in on google & include capacitor in the search, there might be someone that has already encountered this problem. I've repaired loads of monitor's, tv's & sky boxes that have bulged capacitors, replacing them brings the unit back to life. Have a good search on google, good luck. Regards, Mark
  11. Hi, if you're capable of opening the tv up then i suggest looking for a domed capacitor, this is a very common thing with the tv's of today. The power supply board might have a domed capacitor & if it has it needs replacing & this is usually all it is. What is the fault with the tv ? Mark
  12. -3.2 here in Grenoside at the mo time 16:52
  13. That's what i'd try to do next, surely with all the toys about there must be a ball that fits, try poundland or the 99p shop in town, allsorts of toys in there. Good luck, hope you find something. Mark
  14. Just seen this on youtube, does the ball and leaf have sensors in them something or are they simply just plastic ? Or are you after the whole toy ?, it's just with you saying spare part it sounds like you're just after the ball and leaf. Mark
