Who remembers the Rebels days when Les would play 'Boys are Back In Town' and INXS - Need You Tonight???? Us girls would walk in and say "monitors R dripping - lads must be back" and the night Spike arrived in pink T-shirt & shorts, the druids sat around gazing into the beer and wondering who had dropped something in it???????

Hi Jackie - I'm on my way back to Sheff again tonight so I may well see you over the weekend. I won't have internet access from there but will make a note of where you said you'll usually be found!
-
Hi Jackielynne sorry I couldn't get back to you, didn't have internet access where I was staying in Sheff (with my first love from 21 yrs ago!) - I went for a pint in Nelson's on Friday afternoon, that place is such a great replacement for the Wap - I walked in and it felt like home I'll be up again next month so we'll have to get together. As for Martin fighting - what's new lol some things will never change! My name is sharon but I usually go by sha or 'roni, just remind Mart of who I am next time you see him, hmmmm - when he was living with Noel and the mad kid who kicked off outside a police station, I was in his bed and the lad (name eludes me Richard maybe??) shouted top of his voice "Oi, Mart have you really got a bird in there" and I fell out of bed laughing.

Are they any relation to Thomas Arthur Barker (married Irene Mckenzie) who lived at Woodseats? -
LOL - it must have changed since then, when I was there mid - '80's it was a mad, crazy dive Sportmans, Yorkie, Wap then on to Rebels - those were the days
-
did any of you knock about with this lot - I spoke to Paul Bootham earlier today and it brought back so many wild night memories My sis was madly in love with Steve Delaney and I was with their sound engineer 'Spike' and we used to park up outside Totley flats and Spike had a brand new CD Player that you could drive with (we thought that was so top @ the time lol) Used to go and see The Alarm (mike peters et al), London Quireboys, Sharp Cuts and another Yorkshire Band we used to see roun & about loads, they were signed with 'World Turtle' and on the last CD I bought at one of their gigs they did 3 tracks with titles something like house of straw house of bricks House of stone

Ok - I've got bad flu and on strong painkillers but this is crazy I used to live opposite the boating lake growing up and I fell into that damn green gunk so often I can't count! Henderson's Relish - yummmmmmm can't ever eat a stew without a teary-eyed thought of it Hallamshire Hotel - when A-ha first hit the charts I was earning some cash as a 'runner' and had to dash to Top Shop on the Moor to get Morten some new jeans! Mrs Nirmal gave a cooking lesson at one of the colleges in '84 and I was her helper -got paid £15 and went to Rebels (and Yes I was very underage lol)

Oh blimey I must know you then - I moved away from Sheff years ago, umm how would you know me, really tall and leggy (usually peroxide blonde - or green after using 'Sun In' then swimming). Used to wear lots of black leather boots Me and big Mart would always be sat together at the back table @ the sportmans or Yorkie or right in front of Les's desk in the Wap - first time I ever met Wolfie was when I first went to the Wap and the lager was 49p a half - Newkies were £1.20 and he followed me up the stairs and bit me on the bum!!! I was with a well known chappie called Rob Fearnley with the big red Kawasaki - ring any bells yet???
