  5. Last month I went for an interview in Exeter. During the interview I noticed this bloke lurking around, but didnt take much notice until the end when he caught my eye. I asked the director (interviewer) what the blokes name was and he told me, and I recognised the name. At that the bloke turned around stuck out his hand and said hello John. I had worked with this bloke about 10 years ago. Maybe not so strange BUT I have only been back in the UK a couple of years I dont know that many people, I worked woth this bloke in Johannesburg 19 years ago. Of all the places I expect something like this to happen, never did I expect it at an interview. ( I got the job tho and move next month )

  7. Wavey. I hope your mates lad makes a full recovery and goes on to become a brilliant sportsman. And I hope that these louts who did this despicable deed grow up to see the inside of a prison cell, as I am sure many will. Yes you wronged by going about 5 mph over the speed limit BUT how can anyone compare that attack and breaking the speed limit to each other. Yodameister, maybe you should open your eyes and see the yob culture that is happening in this city, maybe not in Longley but in many areas of this city. How can you compare the two "crimes"???? It looks like you are standing up for these chavs or maybe relate to them as "bored kids". I agree with Wavey and many others adding to this thread. Something has to be done on the priority rating of crimes. The longer we let people get away with it, the more intense the problem will become.
  8. I thought I had found mine too but evidentally not. BUT I have not given up hope. I know out there there is a lid to every pot. even if the pot is not a regular size..............
  9. Fagans sounds like a good place to meet. We set a date yet?
  10. My dad grew up in Page Hall and told us stories of Albert Parr, I have seen a picture of him. I always thought my dad was making these stories up about him getting a lift during the star walk.
  11. Patrick2000 If you do go to the Casbah basement club on a music night then be prepared to have your ears ringiing for 3 days or more as mine were twice The accoustics are absolutely dreadfully crap and a public health and safety issue - I'm really surprised they are not reported or closed down ... _______________________________________________________ So why did you go back if the accoustics are crap and health and safety issues???? Some of us enjoy the raw, loud and sweaty atmosphere of "in the pit at the casbah" once in a while. Some of us were brought up going to places like that. Health and safety????? Come on... If thats what you like its a great night out. LOUD SWEATY and RAW.
  12. My point what i was trying to make was that people should be who they are, be real. It dont matter what you look like, what you wear. People should be more genuine. Not stuck up ugly or stuck up beautiful people, but real people. People that dont depend on status, looks or materialistic possesions for confidence. As rosie said You are who you are and looks don`t mean a thing. Yes some may be classed as better looking as others but we all have our own inner beauty and that is what shines through. I believe that too, just wish more people would
  13. I try not to stereotype anyone on first impression, to me its not what they look like or what they are wearing. Its starts with what they are saying. I give anyone the time of day, ugly, "beautiful", well dressed or not. But dont come across as someone showing off or pretending to be something you are not because its noticed and I will shrug them off drop dead gorgeous or not. Something that I have found in modern society is that there are less and less real people. People not wanting to show off or be something they are not. Anyway that my opinion
  14. I agree with you Jamie. I admit I am not the best looking bloke in the world but am not pig ugly, the good looking ones get looked at twice. Also to add to your post I believe its what you are wearing. To some people if you dont wear the in fashion you might as well be pig-ugly. I have no problem with my confidence and care not to go to these places where you are shunned because you aren't one of the "beautiful people" or dont wear eviso and have a sovereign ring on... So if you dont get noticed by your good looks or or taste(less) in clothes how do people ever know what you are like.....? They dont and thats shallow and I dont really want to meet a shallow girl thats interested only in my clothes, my car and what area i live in. Anyway just thought I would put my 2penneth in Dolouz
  15. I have been reading, and will continue to read the thread and am intrigued to what has anything to respond with with out the tongue clicking. Without using words he doesnt really know what they mean. I thought he said he didnt care? Please respond Nick
