  1. As I said above - there have been tensions in that society of late, and I believe that the nat con conference was already stopped on 2 separate occasions.
  2. I don't know the exact details or the context of why they were closed down; but surely you can't fight a referendum partly about a nation state being able to set it's own rules, then moan when a different nation state does something you don't agree with.
  3. So why was Farage harrumphing about them - likening the Mayor of Brussels to something akin to the old soviet era?
  4. I know some naughty people have been calling the National Conservatives 'NatCs' for short
  5. But shouldn't foreigners respect host country's laws
  6. I think it was in the video above in which Farage said the Brussels authorities were behaving “like the old Soviet Union”. Speaking of which, sharing a platform with a Putin ally isn't wise for a national politician. As for Braverman, wasn't so long ago repeatedly tried to ban protests she personally didn't approve of, suddenly gets concerned about politicians trying to "undermine free speech". Not very consistent is she?
  7. I think it must be you're tired from working. Jonathan Gullis is an MP and thus shouldn't be supporting Reform, with whom their in direct competition with.
  8. I'm not sure about that... I know different countries have different attitudes to community relations and the issues that flow. I seem to think that Geert Wilders the far right holocaust denier, and his party really been stirring things up over there, and that created a hell of tension. I'm not making a political point here but surely Nigel Farage and Suella Braverman of all politicians should understand that different countries have their own norms and values, and they should respect the rules of the host country.
  9. I see that Nigel Farage and Suella Braverman are complaining that an even they were due to speak at on the continent has been closed down by the police: "Police in Brussels have stormed a right-wing conference attended by Nigel Farage and Suella Braverman after orders for the event to be shut down. Authorities ordered the controversial National Conservatism (NatCon) Conference to be closed to “guarantee public safety”. Brussels police order closure of right-wing National Conservatism Conference attended by Nigel Farage and Suella Braverman | The Independent Good grief - this lot were castigating Labour as extremists - now they're attending conferences with the likes of Viktor Orban and which have had to be shut down for fears of public order!!!
  10. It is a secular school, but I did read that it changed to become a secular school while this pupil was in attendance. So it feels like the goal posts have been moved.
  11. You know that abacus that you Tories were mocking Diane Abbott with a few years ago? I think you need to pass it to the Deputy Chair of the Conservative Party, and ex Teacher Jonathan Gullis MP who doesn't even know that 28 + 13 is less than 42. EPIC FAIL 😂😂😂
  12. Wondered how long it would take....
  13. Birbalsingh seems to revel in publicity for affirmation. I would've thought an accommodation could been achieved between the pupils and the school. Hopefully Birbalsingh will come across more students who are as bloody minded and self promoting as she is.
  14. Well seeing as you're uninitiated, since Brexit there's been a promotion of policies, not because the Government or those in the press who support believes in them, but because they annoy their opponents. It's a contrariness for it's own sake, which most normal people grow out of when they become adults, but the over indulged seem to revel in, even though they're supposedly mature people.
  15. Wow that is a surprise. It's not been open that long. We went in a couple of months ago and it was lovely.
  16. Hardly a rant, just an observation. And it can't have escaped even your attention that the likes of the express and mail like to think they've got under the skins of their opponents. Still it's all the more satisfying to watch them crumble under their own ideology and dogma
  17. It does seem harsh, it shouldn't have had to been resolved in the courts, and I'll be honest the head teacher Katherine Birbalsingh rubs me up the wrong way - however I'm not a big fan of faith schools.
  18. It's really disgraceful that MPs made only themselves and people who committed serious enough crimes to receive custodial sentence exempt from the legislation.
  19. Muslim student loses bid to take part in prayers at secular school https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/prayer-ban-muslim-britain-strictist-school-b2529351.html
  20. Probably.... I remember when they banned patients in psychiatric units smoking, I thought that was so cruel.
  21. It used to be the case that to smoke cannabis you'd have to mix it with tobacco.
  22. Even though I quit smoking fairly recently I'm minded to agree with this sentiment. There is something really ugly about the state banning things that people enjoy. MPs as well - I know a fair few MPs are smokers.....I wonder how they feel about it?
  23. There was Ceefax as well! I remember the good old days when there would be Ceefax & Teletext before the days of 24/7 crap TV
  24. Those were my sentiments when gutter snipes in the press made a big deal of Ed Milliband eating a bacon sandwich
