  1. We have lots if you'd like it - Totley, Sheffield
  2. We've just had our hall landing and stairs plastered. The walls were badly damaged with bits so loose we'd taken it back to brick and the remainder had a textured finish. There was also a very difficult curvy turn in the stairs which I thought would be near impossible! We got the usual 3 quotes but after reading a couple of review on here and meeting the 3 guys we decided to go with the cheapest option (but would have gone with this guy even if he hadn't been). Did a great job, tidy, very good finish, nice guys and a very good price. We'll certainly use him again when we get our kitchen / dining room knocked through. 3. The trams appear to be running from Shalesmore but at that tram stop you will have to get onto the tram on the wrongs side to head back towards town. There is a guy by hoyle street switching the tracks to the tram can get back on the correct line. As already mentioned by others, i think it'll be several hours before the trams get any further.
  4. ok, so it probably not the best author in the world, but i really enjoy terrry pratchett's book. they are easy to read (good when you only get 10 minutes at a time to read), funny and can be very clever - there are a lot of hidden jokes which, personally, i often only find the second time a read them. he also manages to bring out a book or two a year which keeps up the momentum. he is obviously mainly know for his disc world books but some of his others are very good as well. i particularly like good omens. there is a great site that a can't seem to find at the moment which lists all the hidden meanings in his books (at least the ones that have been found so far). It called the annotated pratchett files.
  5. I went to reading as had friends going there - great band, great weather, great atmosphere and not to hard to get to from sheffield - 2 hours 40 minutes direct on the train. The big suprises for me were Kasabian - had a difficult time deciding between them and the Pixes but think i made the right choice - the test atmosphere was amazing. The best stage show had to be Marilyn Manson. Best small band i found was the Sub Way - they really got the crowd going. As always, Goldie Looking Chain managed to get everyone enjoying themselves nice and early in the day. Will be a difficult decision where to go next year, leeds or reading - i've been to leeds twice before and while the venues have been bigger in the past there always seems to be trouble in the camp site on the sunday night. Friends of mine went and got their tent burnt down this year and had to sleep in the car as they were over the limit - not the best end to an otherwise great weekend.
  6. Cool - thanks LL200 - i use opera just for testing but is handy to get rid of the ads. It works for various different platforms (windows / linux / pocket pc etc...)
