  1. I have been in the farm today and it was full of families having a good time. I did check the info you sent me and it looks very good . I wish I had known it when I started the Crowd Funding however People have given money which will help the farm. This afternoon part of a door of the shop fell off so the money will be able to deal with that and other things.
  2. No I'm not French I had never dealt with Crowd Funding before and when I clicked onto Community this company came up. As I keep saying the money will be transfered on the 16th Feb to the organisation that deals with the maintenence of the Farm Shop. Thankyou for the info I will have a look at it
  3. I am so happy to hear that you are a supporter of the farm. I volunteer on Sunday afternoon 12 noon - 4pm so please come and see me. I am trying to find the section that maintaines the shop building and the money will be given to them 16th Feb.
  4. You go onto Google put on Money Pot Graves Park click it and it takes you to the Crowd Funding site Do you mean your Sheffield Forum Facebook? I will have a look at it and if I can I will . Thankyou you for replying De De Lion ---------- Post added 03-02-2017 at 20:46 ---------- I have never done Crowd Funding before but I was so upset when the break in happened again. As for the money on the day the funding stops I have to send it to the people who will deal with it . That will be the section of the council that deals with the maintenance of the farm shop. Go to the farm and they have a Donation bucket. Thankyou ---------- Post added 03-02-2017 at 20:52 ---------- As I said I had never done Crowd Funding before. When I went on it gave different sections. The one for my problem was COMMUNITY however I just clicked on the first one that came up. It was 3am in the morning and was just happy to have got on a way of getting money for the farm.
  5. I am a Volunteer for the farm and when I see all the people/families come along to see the animals and really enjoy themselves it makes me realise that all the work that takes place is worth it. . So when the farm was broken into yet again a few weeks ago. The shop was trashed and two beautiful very large Rabbits were taken out of their home one put in a pig pen thank goodness the pig didn't eat it and the other found frightened. I woke up at 3am and decided I was going to help. I went onto my computer found CROWD FUNDING and started a pot for the farm. Now we have received £1200 so far ( Thankyou to everyone who has given donations) but of course we need more to make the farm a saver place. CCTV Camera and Lights . New Doors and Windows so they cannot break in again and if they do we will know who these people are. We will do what ever we can with what ever money we have , the Pot finishes 16th Feb. Go onto Google - Money Pot Graves Park. Click on the Link. THANKYOU
  6. I have been looking for JG Graves birthday date . He was born 1866 but does anyone know the month and day?
  7. Can anyone tell me an easy way to put tassels on a knitted scarf?
  8. Thank goodness for this reply I wondered if my question had been sent to another planet.
  9. My 5 year old swaps books with her school friend. They love it I know of a website that is just for children swapping toys games and book. http://www.grannytime.co.uk
  10. But with a SWAP no money changes hands or it didn't in my day. Maybe that was because no one had any money
  11. As a child I used to swap my books, toys with my cousins, school friends. Not all my things some were too precious to part with but others I could let go and enjoy getting "new to me " toys. Is it still happening?
  12. Wow this made me think. where was I well in the miners strike I was living in Sheffield. My mother's father was a miner so she had strong thoughts on the subject. My two sons were chimney sweeps and when they were asked to get out of their van at Orgreave it was my mother( who canvassed for them was also in the van ) who had to be restrained. Yes we have lost a lot but I would hazard a guesss that it wasn't all down to trying to run a business for everyone concerened i.e. owners workers shareholders I would also guess that many people are sat very comfortably off having made sure that they and their families will never want. Maybe if we stopped copying other countries practices and returned to the practice of being ourselves we might do a bit better. In fact at one time we were quite good at it.
  13. I don't quite know where to start. Money that's always a good place. Community post offices offer a service. Oh my what a dirty word I've just said. Something that money can't buy. You know when you go into a shop and the assistant ignores you well that's dis-service, knowing your name and helping you with your transactions that's doing the business. You might think that the young do not require such help. Wrong" you try shopping with two small children and a wet umbrella a little help comes in handy. So why are profitable post offices being shut well the rumour is that in 2011 Post Office Uk will step out of the shadows a lean mean fighting machine to take on all comers. Wrong again what will step from the shadows will be a skeleton so weak it wouldn't be able to knock the top off a rice pudding. Why because what the Post Office UK is saying to anyone who will listen. You can live without your community post office come along get with it. When the competitors come along they will have a ready made market of dissatisfied customers waiting to use them. Maybe they will have a core of customers left who only value money but then of course all the competition will need to do is offer them a better deal and off they'll trot.Any business worth it's salt knows that you have to build up customer loyalty through Service and good products not on price. I'm going to make a sandwich I feel so relieved to have got that off my chest
  14. Yes another one bites the dust! What price will local communities pay for this next thought from Westminster. Goodness knows we are hanging on by a thread to preserve a life style that has served us well. If you are a young un you may be laughing at this, but you like to have your friends around you it makes you feel safe well it's same with communities post offices. You have a chat someone in this world knows you are alive. You don't have to be old to understand this. We are all facing the credit crunch and all the rest, but this deliberate action to destroy communities is savage to say the least. Money of course they say is the reason but the goverment can find money for what it thinks is important so there is your answer. We are not important!!! and don't forget they've been voted into office. Maybe we should try a dictatorship or maybe we've already got one.
