  1. What are you doing on 10th May? Save the date for the next ASSIST fundraiser – this one is not to be missed. The amazing Free Radicals are performing soul and funk classics in aid of ASSIST on Saturday 10th May at 7.30 pm, Broomhall Centre (Broomspring Lane, S10 2FD). They raised the roof for us last year, performing to over 100 people who danced the night away and donated over £1000! We are thrilled the band can entertain in aid of ASSIST again and hope you will join us. Tickets are £7 with £4 concessions and can be booked in advance via We Got Tickets. Make sure you reserve your place at May’s number one night out! There will be refreshments on sale including real ales, wine and juice. Book online here: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/269601 If you have any questions please contact us on efa@assistsheffield.org.uk.

  3. Hello, I wondered if anyone has had dealings with Campbell Homes and, if so, whether they're better, worse or about the same as other property companies? Thanks!

  7. Just wondering if you knew what was happening about the karaoke? Happy birthday for Sat anyway!
  8. Oh great. Does that mean the karaoke will be back on next Friday?
  9. Does anyone know if it's re-opened yet? Or when it will. I was wondering what's happening about the karaoke that was there on a Friday night. Has it moved somewhere else or is it coming back when it re-opnes? Cheers, Jen.
  10. Thanks Duckweed. Suebeedoo - We are looking for someone to demonstrate making Christmas decorations for a large group and then for the members to have a go at making their own.
  11. Hello, Does anyone know of a willow weaver in the Sheffield area? Thanks, Jen.
  12. The areas you are looking at are perfect for getting out towards the Derwent Valley and Hope Woodlands. All along the west of Sheffield we are bordered with countryside so you are just minutes away from the great outdoors! The further south you go, the higher the prices and the more exclusive the post codes. But for your price range you may get something anywhere from Langsett down maybe even as far as Crosspool. Grenoside itself is a nice area, although it is bordered by two large council estates so you need to bear this in mind. Personally I love Bradfield but I doubt you will find anything in your budget. Perhaps also try Stannington, Loxley and Rivelin. They are busier places to live with good connections to town (thinking about access to trams during the snow) however it puts you as close to the Hope Valley as Dore and Totley. In terms of looking for jobs - you don't say what kind of work you do or what you're looking for, but then that's probably another thread. Sheffield is a fantastic place to live. Good luck!
  13. Hello, I just wanted to say well done to you!! I am a member of Seven Hills WI and I am really glad you've decided to set up another branch in Sheffield. We've had lots of demand and our meetings are nearly always full. The feedback we have had has been amazing - that we've helped women boost their confidence, try new things and make friends. I am really proud to be part of a group that is actively creating new communities by helping support women of all ages and bringing them together. Good luck!! Love Jen x
