Looking at their FB page they have plenty of availability this week, or at least they did yesterday when they posted it.
Had thought of that but feel it’s gone way past having a meal there now. Plus the anticipation of paying at the end/being upfront about it is not recipe for an enjoyable meal.

It would be nice to hear that from him, plus after a fair bit of chasing last year he did actually once move us, he moved us to the weekend before restaurants could legally open in May. Mix up of days, on purpose who knows.
Anyway, I have since sent him emails to make him aware of the mistake and to rebook - nothing. I would have gladly rebooked, using the £20 for another date but not now. He hasn’t fulfilled his terms and is clearly ignoring me so I’m not going to be going to a place that treats paying customers like this.

Anyhow, it's really nice food if and when you do visit.
Luke is actively posting on Instagram for people to DM him for a booking. But I have rung them and no answer. I even called in one afternoon and left my details with a guy who worked there for Luke to call me back. Nothing! It’s a lot of effort for a booking at a restaurant and to be honest I’m done. Just want my deposit back. Only £20 but it’s the principle and I came on here to find out if anyone else was in the same boat. Maybe it’s personal against me.

We booked to go to Lukes Place for a nice meal before Christmas last year and paid a £20 deposit to secure a booking. Lockdown II then hit and we were unable to go as restaurants were mandated to close. After many emails the owner finally got back to me and rebooked us in for May 2021. Unfortunately for us, he booked us in just before restaurants and bars we allowed to reopen. I have since sent the restaurant 3 emails, an Instagram message and even visited but no one has got back to me to rebook us in. I really want to support an emerging business/chef but unfortunately I feel ignored and unvalued from this establishment - that is fine ii it's doing well but I wanted to know if anyone has had a similar experience? I just can't help but think maybe they are not responding to me but I cannot for the life of me understand why....

Went past here about 40 mins ago. Looks like the entrance to the Sheffield Works Department Sports and Social Club is taped off still.

From their Facebook page.
- GOSSIPS UPDATE -- 21.02.04 -
Our sincere apologises for being closed last weekend. Essential maintenance is going on inside the club which meant we couldn't open our doors.
The second stage of this maintenance is ongoing, therefore we will be closed this weekend as well.
Have no fear. Next weekend we're having a big party for the re-opening. Cabaret is the word buzzing round the Gossips office .
See you all next weekend.

5 of us went to gossips last night to find it was closed due to maintenance issues. Nothing mentioned on their Facebook page to warn us. Won't bother next time.

Anyone know what Gossips is like? Keep trawling the net to see if there's any pictures of the place so know what to expect, is it a good night or too early to say?

I'm dissapointed to hear this but it's hardly a surprise if i'm honest. Charging to get into a venue that is decorated like it's straight out of the 70's to find it's empty inside 90% of the time. It offered nothing to the scene in terms of clubnights and events. When will Sheffield realise that drag nights/queens are not what the masses want? It just highlights how dated and tacky it was/is.

Hi all,
Wonder if someone can help me.
My parents have a ford focus 04 plate that needs a new engine fitting. We've been quoted what we'd consider a really high price. Would anyone in the know be able to tell us how much we should expect to pay for the engine + fitting approx?
Thanks,
Gary

You could get a flight from Leeds or Manchester to Nice then catch a train from Nice to Marseille. Takes about 2 hours so I'm told.

Hi, I'm not sure of the rules about posts like this on SF but My mum has asked me to ask on here if anyone wants to mate our male Cavalier King Charles with thier bitch. He's a lovely Ruby colour and is Two years old. We'd like him to have one chance at mating before we have him 'done'. Preferably we'd like someone who is experienced at breeding. If you're interested please get in touch.

Hi Aarron I did not go in the end but I went in another night to the Affinity bar and I must admit I was impressed - it seems a very plush place, plush furniture, carpets and even chandeliers ! I am a bar sort of guy so a few bar stools would not go amiss :-) Is this the best gay bar in Sheffield or are there others?Agreed! I went in on the Kelly Llorenna night and had a good time. It was my first time downstairs. I'll deffo be going back.

I don't think a public thoroughfare is their responsibility. I would try the council.

It was ace! Thought it was a plane at first. I didn't expect it to be so bright. Thanks to the OP for reminding me. I've been following it's course on the NASA iPhone app for ages but never got round to looking for it!

Henrys do aswell. We had an area last night and it was good! Give them a call.

About the same as last year, my impression was that it was a little less, but still a fair number of people; not bad considering the changeable weather on the day.I have an email for the police saying between 8000 and 10000. It's hard to say but there were loads of people in the tents this year and are seriously underused when the weather is blazing hot.

Hehehe that's my picture! It got a massive cheer when it appeared!

I reckon he’s closed it as the website is no longer available. At least three more reviews about deposits not being refunded have appeared on Google.
