  1. I work at the union and come into contact with many of the mangers and senior staff, they all seem like reasonable people to me.
  2. I like it. I don't think the aisles are that bad and they have a good range of stuff. The service is also much better than co-op, much faster. Granted it will be madness at knocking off time but co-op is an equally terrible experience at that time and I might suggest you are likely to be stood in a queue for much longer. Impressive opening hours at Sainsburys too, 6:30-11, including Sundays, very useful.
  3. My apologies if this is a stupid question, but it's caused me a bit of confusion lately. It's regarding the area behind Bramall Lane football ground, specifically to the east of the ground where there are residential areas, an industrial estate, shops etc. The question I ask is this: What is this area called? I've heard a few answers to this question. *waits for someone to reply with 'match day parking'*
  4. You could park on Endcliffe Vale Road, that's pretty close and was unrestricted last time I checked.
  5. Thanks to everyone clapping and cheering! It really did help. This was my first race of any kind and there's no where else I'd rather have done it, lovely day.
  6. Tesco aside, the bottom of springvale road should have double yellows for a small distance. Having people parked there is incredibly dangerous, especially for drivers not used to the area. The whole street is a bit of a hazard in fact, reminds me of that thread about terraced roads becoming one way.
  7. I got offered speakers from a van about a year ago under almost exactly the same circumstances, the wikipedia article describes very acurately my encounter. It was highly annoying because they were very pushy about it.
  8. Hi, I was just wondering what's happening on the top half of Northumberland Road? On the corner where it meets Harcourt Road there is a huge bomb crater like hole in the ground but couldn't find anyone to ask at the site.
  9. I saw two late last night just trotting down the street, and they did cross the road so whoever said they don't is talking rubbish.
  10. I think it's a great place to live, as sophie said there is a strong student presence in the area and they are always a target wherever they are. However, I feel very safe here, walking around is pleasant day or night. There might have been a spate of crime lately but it's no worse than anywhere else, it's just a part of city living.
  11. We had a leaflet put through the other day saying there'd been one on springvale. Also yesterday walking down western road I saw a car with a smashed window which looked like it had just been done as there was still stuff in the car, though there was no one around. Couldn't really do anything about it because I was on my way to an exam >.<
