  1. Has anyone purchased the freehold of their house recently and care to share how much it cost? We have 900 or 800 years until it expires but would like to purchase. Yearly rent is about £6. Don't want tostart the process if its going to cost 000's Thanks
  2. Its the fitting a new Lnb with 4 outputs, cable, drilling two holes in the wall. currently the old cable goes round the front of the house. We want it round the back of the house. Thanks
  3. Hi Any one able to recommend a good installer. Got sky at the moment but going to freesat and want to get access in another room. S8 Thanks
  4. Just handed back my allotment at Meersbrook (316 I think) When i got it 4/5 years ago it was 7 foot deep in brambles. Found a plumb and apple tree in the middle!. Never had any break-ins (never had anything to steal) but I know next door did. Really sad to see it go but moving house and second child on the way! If someone gets it please PM me, so i know they have sorted it quickly and i can let you know what there is. Thanks
  5. Obviously leaving the key with the agent is not going to be possible with an online agent. So organising with the person you are selling buying from would solve this. Thanks
  6. Hi They are the crates that they use for office moves etc. Sturdy with 2 lid flaps, stack well. Thanks
  7. Estate agents are all the same, they do the minimum of work, but charge a fortune. We had a couple round to value and give us a quote (1.5%). I did some research online and in the end went with housenetwork . Its all done oniline and you pay up front (Smaller fee). So i would recommend if you are just testing the water. The guy came round a day later, did all the measurements and took the photo's (fish eye lense, make the rooms look bigger). We were on Rightmove,Zoopla etc with 24 hours. We had viewings the next day and had accepted an offer within two weeks. We deal with Kayleigh at housenetwork and she was really good. Service was great and they were very proactive, when a viewing was confirmed they also send you an email reminder with confirmation of details! Also once you have been on the market a week, their website shows you the Righmove stats so you can see how many people have viewed your property. I used a discount code YTOCXOCMFR and got 5% off, there doesnt seem to be any expiry date. We are fingers crossed at the moment that it all goes through in the next couple of weeks.
  8. Hi HSBC will charge you £200 for their solicitor to check the work done by your solicitor if you don't use one of their approved solicitors. its because of fraud!! Another way to take a cut. Just a word of warning from personal experience! We currently have our mortgage with HSBC, went into find out how much extra we could borrow, got a signed letter from them, found a house we liked, sold ours, made an offer on another, accepted, instructed solicitors etc, then went back to HSBC mortgage meeting told about the extra cost for solicitors, then told that they wouldn't lend us a penny more than our current mortgage!!! So we spoke to a financial adviser and got a better deal.
  9. Hi Anyone know somewhere in Sheffield that Hires out plastic crates for moving house? There is a place in manchester but its £100 extra to get them to deliver. Thanks
  10. Buy two good locks and be careful were you leave it and then to can have the pleasure of riding a nice bike rather than a piece of junk that will be forever giving you problems.
  11. http://www.genesisbikes.co.uk/bikes/mountain/io-&-ioid/io-id-alfine-11 Two mountain bikes here that have hub gears, if I could afford it I'd have the Alfine 11 speed IO. Best looking second hand if upto £500, I personally wouldnt touch Saracen or Carrera, look at some of the smaller brands and you will get alot better components. I would aim to get something with a good frame and forks and then you can update/improve as you get the cash. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Genesis-Core-20-2010-Hardtail-Mountain-Bike-/150557764476?pt=UK_Bikes_GL&hash=item230df12b7c This looks a bargin on ebay (No I'm not selling it)
  12. Bonjon how much you looking at spending? Do you need full suspension for the riding you do? Good idea on the forum to have a cycling space.
  13. Need a coal bunker for the coming winter as fed up with bags and bags of coal lieing around. Anyone know where I can get one locally? Thanks
  14. It was Sheffield hallam that was the issue not central. In Hallam the lib dems won by 15,000 votes, so while it is upsetting for a few hundred people not getting a vote it aint going to make any difference to the result (with the current system).
