  1. 2. Totley/Dore border is the Old Hay Brook (runs under Baslow Road by the Methodist Church, Grove Road). Totley Brook Road is not in Totley but Dore it's misnamed- I guess by rights should be Old Hay Brook Road.
  3. It may have been once:gag:, let's hope it gets it's mojo back after the refurb
  4. Refurb not started yet, still advertising 'pre-refurb' events up to 4th Feb so could be closing soon after.
  5. Some Totley Memorabilia which may be of interest at http://www.totleyhistory.org.uk & http://www.totleyindependent.co.uk
  6. Assume you have tried turning it off (at the power socket on the wall, leave off for 30secs before powering it back on) which cures 99% of all ills. Otherwise best to call Sky - which of course is at your cost - & they can do a remote reset.
  7. Anyone noticed increase in incidences of dirty fuel. I've heard of 3 in last couple of weeks causing vehicle probs, may be coincidence but all 3 were all supermarket fuel?
  8. You CAN get BT INFINITY in Totley, it's off Beauchief exchange and has been converted. Blistering speeds but at a price as previously mentioned, but Totley Brook Road will get pretty good speed at standard 'up to 20MB' service, I'm on O2 right at the top end of Totley (long way from exchange) & still get around 5MB for only £7.50 a month (as an O2 mobile customer I get £5 discount). As a point of order Totley Brook Road is not Totley, it's Dore.
  9. So we've made the decision to ditch the old analogue TV (on it's way out anyhow) for a new flatscreen job ahead of the switchover. Any recommendations?, I think we want a 36-37" TV with integrated Freeview that'll also record 1 channel whilst watching another. MUST be simple to operate!!!! Willing to spend £500 or so.
  10. So you were turning into Silver Street Head from Tenter Street?
  11. You're in luck at the Crown then, the left hand side is dog-free - dogs only allowed on the right during food service times. Everyone's a winner.
  12. What's your beef about allowing well-behaved dogs into a pub? So long as they stay on the floor there is no issue. The Crown has ALWAYS adopted a dog friendly policy, it's part of the tradition of being a local where you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere. My problem is with pubs that DON'T allow dogs, but that's their prerogotive, in my opinion this is another H&S gone mad attitude (so far as I am aware there is no legislation that puts a blanket ban on dogs in public places).
  13. The cafes in our public parks are brill. Forge Dam, Millhouses & Graves to name a handful.
  14. Say they have plans to do so but need a kitchen first, what didn't get stolen doesn't work so needs to be done from bottom up. Apparently the glasswasher only turned up a couple of hours before opening time.
