  1. I'm hopefully starting a new job in Hillsborough and was wondering if I can get a First bus that goes to/from Sheffield interchange? I've looked and can't seem to find one. Cheers, James.
  2. Hi, does anyone know of a phone shop that's open sunday in Hillsborough or city centre? I need to replace a phone A.S.A.P.
  3. Hi all, I'm planning on taking one of my friends who's had some mental problems walking tomorrow and am struggling to come up with somewhere to go. I was thinking of sticking within the Sheffield/South Yorkshire border rather than going into Derbyshire to keep public transport costs down. Can anyone suggest a spot? I'm think of doing a minimum of about 3 or 4 miles.
  4. Can anyone tell me if the 58 bus still goes to Bolsterstone?According to Travel South Yorkshire it no longer stops there. Is this right??? Cheers, James.
  5. To be fair they've done the same with me - free speed increases, but in reality they don't match the speeds of the competition. But for no extra cost I can't complain in that respect. My main problems are with their mobile/3g services and customer support. I would say polite, friendly and useless wouldn't be entirely inaccurate!
  6. I've been with Virgin for my internet since the telewest days and a mobile customer for the past 4 years - they've steadily gone downhill. My internet connection is slow, customer service is horrible and my mobile account is a massive balls up from beginning to end. I've been charged for calls and texts that should be in my monthly allowance, been ignored by their staff, had my tariff price increased twice...and at one point i had three tariffs for one phone (instead of them changing my original one)! And on top of that they gave me some free calls and net usage as way of an apology, which I have now apparently been charged for! This is on top of being charged 136 quid for data when i first got a smartphone and thought I was on wifi. They're more worried about signing up new customers rather than looking after their old ones. Their infrastructure is already it bursting point, more customers = worse services, but they just don't care.
  7. Are you running an Intel CPU? If so, 200 mhz is the quickest it will run (without overclocking). The 800mhz refers to the "quad pumped" technology that makes the fsb do more work per clock cycle. You can't get the actual fsb to run at 800mhz. If it's already running at 220/230, it's already above speed. So 220 will be 880 taking into account quad pumping. So, in BIOS your fsb will show up in the 200s, not 800s, because that's the "physical" speed of the hardware (if you get me). If you get a program like CPU-Z it will show you the clock details - bus speed will be somewhere around 200, and RATED bus speed will be somewhere near 800mhz (not taking into account overclocking).
  8. We finished up postponing it, I think we're heading for Edale this weekend instead.
  9. If you don't mind buying used, I've just bought a refurbished Dell Optiplex GX620 off a seller on ebay (sdk enterprises) for £55. I've had it about a month now and it runs great. XP, 3GHz Dual core Pentium D, 2gb RAM (expandable to 4gb), dvd writer. They're not easy to add expansion cards to though, so that could be an issue.
  10. Me and my OH are on about going camping this weekend but are stuck for ideas of where to go. We're relying on public transport which narrows our choices down quite a bit. Can anyone recommend a decent campsite that easy easy(ish) to get to via train or bus? Cheers, James.
  11. Can anyone tell me what bus route(s) will get me to Wharncliffe wood from the city centre and what stop is best to get off at? Cheers, James.
  12. Does anyone know what Worksop is like these days? I may be moving house and it looks like a fairly cheap option. I know Worksop used to have a bad drug problem and was pretty run down. Has it improved over the years?
  13. You could try scaffolding planks...Knock in six stakes (corners and one on each long side) and screw the boards on.
  14. Not sure if this is the right place to post these sort of questions or not, but can anyone tell me anything about the Elm Lane area? I've got a house come up that I may rent but don't really know the area too well. James.
