  1. Law rather than guidelines... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-29687769.
  2. Another good year but one marred slightly by a video drone sweeping over the site. (No-one likes to be watched.) I wonder who the idiot controlling it was. (If it was the organisers - which I doubt - it was a stupid idea even if it did produce a good view for promotional purposes.) Perhaps it was The Police who had a chopper over there a couple of years ago. If so it was really stupid as there's nothing to worry about at such at event - or at least nothing that the Boys In Blue who were on site (and who seemed very friendly) could not control on their own. Whatever the case do not do it again.
  3. My right what? Oh, you mean "you're". So, you're wrong. Touché. See my previous post and note also that the OP (a self-confessed jail-breaker of iOS devices) still hasn't answered the question - a question, I might put to m'learned (cough) friend, that is not an accusation of making a mistake - i.e. I don't claim being right about anything. My guess is that he was simply unaware of the official support for the feature.
  4. Fine. Best not upgrade and lose iPlayer functionality. Here is a reference to an example - a modified version of the official app, it seems, as official support is not yet out. Perhaps you're referring to a bloodied one - quite why I don't know as I haven't said you were wrong - rather I questioned your claims in order to gain clarification in the light of the limitations of the BBC's official app. You can snipe until the cows come home but you'll only make it look like you're what they left behind.
  5. All "Skype to Skype" calls are free regardless of device and mode - except, that is, if you want multiple video participants - that being a paid-for service. So, if both parties use Skype it's potentially free. However, if you have a PAYG service for data on a mobile device such as an iPhone which uses 3G (and are not using a "free" wireless network such as a home one) then you will pay for it so - plus, of course, if your traffic limit is exceeded on a contract. Having said that the data it uses is really quite low - even for video - figures for which I don't have but would like to find out about. (I'll look one day.) You can also call landlines and mobile services - in the UK and beyond - if you buy some credit. It's all here.
  6. You can and each must have an e-mail address - i.e. one per identity - that you have access to. This is where to get another if need be - though bear in mind there are few reasons to have several.
  7. For the record it will not change across multiple devices as one could have multiple (Apple) identities that can be used in different places.
  8. Wars and terrorism can always be justified. It's simply a matter of one's viewpoint. The radio programme that I referred to focuses on the Julian Assange case and touches on the Gary McKinnon one. The interview with the condoning party begins at 6:50 (on my podcast version anyway) and lasts about five minutes. I recommend everyone who is interested in the treaty listens to it for perspective as it purports to dismiss misconceptions on the parts of the General Public and even MPs. The guide here (actually linked to on the story page that I referred to) answers a lot of questions about the treaty.
  9. An advocate of the treaty in the radio programme that I referred to counters the arguments about the arrangement being unfair and/or inappropriate - albeit not over this specific case.
  10. I wonder if this bloke likes The Birdman Of Alcatraz. For a view on the extradition treaty listen to this.
  11. Probably. These will help you to find out... Disk Inventory X GrandPerspective What Size Mac ...the latter being a paid-for one. It depends what your Mac supports - Firewire (400 or 800) being faster than USB (2) in terms of sustained data rates - even the new Thunderbolt being potentially slower. (Look.) LaCie do an aesthetically-pleasing range if that's important but as with Macs this comes at a higher price. Finally, I wonder what data backup strategy you're using if you're in this position - i.e. how you'd get back any valuable data (presumably not video) if your startup disk went tits up.
