  1. HI Sedith, the "in n out" cafe was on the top of Howard street, just below a shop fabulously named "lift up your skirt and fly",I used to work on St Pauls Parade and we had liver, chips, peas and gravy sent across at least three times per week,Barry used to work upstairs and his mum used to do all the cooking downstairs (cat remember her name) we used to have the crumble and custard afterwards, all home cooked, beautiful, happy memories!.

  4. Hi Lynda M here are a few names, see if they ring any bells, Geoff Seedhouse,Steve Lees John van Boolen, Russel Ouwtram,Ronnie Hague,Ray Waymouth,Pete Dillon, and me Derrick Greenfield(Charlotte road) I have very fond memories of you.
  5. Calling these shops bookies, or betting shops is a misnomer,I have been refused bets or been offered restricted odds(average bet £50) because I win more often than I lose, yet if I want to put £1,000 in a FOBT there is no problem, that is because you cannot win on them (average take out of these machines is £8oo per week each!).These machines are now the easiest way to launder money made from the illegal drugs trade, put £500 in lose 40% go to the counter with your receipt collect your "winnings" and when picked up by police and asked "how do you explain this cash in your possession when you are unemployed" answer,"I have just won it in the bookies, here is my receipt".
  6. David (nish) Greenfield was one of the best trouser makers in Sheffield, taught by Ron Ososki, made trousers for Lawrence Newman`s "trouser bar" in the Wicker, and a lot of other Sheffield tailors, made suits under the name of Harry Justice (attercliffe) sadly died last weekend, could cut a pair of trousers (without a pattern) quicker than you could make a cup of tea.
  7. Harvey 19, Conways could be the tailor on West street, a few doors down from the Saddle pub. Cuttsie, Fred lovatt was definatley on Howard street,(opposite the in n` out cafe) later moved to Division street, then up to Walkley. He was the only tailor I have ever known who had a picture of himself on his suit labels!.
