It was a Polish Club for a number of years but closed and was refurbished as a bar called the Pointing Dog, for a few years they had to keep the membership in place that was a throwback to it's previous incarnation, it had a large bar area to the left and tables for eating to the right, the food was pretty good but the prices aimed it at th high end, I believe it was then bought by Greene King and became the Lost & Found, seemed to do ok for a few years but last time I called in on a Friday night it was virtually empty.

We were in last Friday night. There were a few in but I wouldn’t think enough to keep a place of that size going.

I think it does better in the summer tho.

No idiots who use football as an excuse for a ruckus do.

Someone I went to school with was quite high up in the BBC (🙄

We met him for a drink in town one Saturday night after United had been at home and he’d clearly been in a fight.

I avoided the elephant in the room and asked if it was a good match.

He hadn’t been. Didn’t bother with the matches anymore. Pathetic.

I got my head kicked in in 1980 in the hole in the road. A bunch of skinheads jumped me and a mate while we were off to see Def Leppard.

You should start a thread about it.

I once got squirted in the face with a can of silly string in the hole in the road.

    It was Christmas Eve tho…

The Bosses of the BEEB need sacking.  They can say what they want about the Royal Adults but the kids will be saying Mummy what have we done wrong.    I'm not Royalist but I am a Parent.  This type of news stinks.

It’s been reported on every news channel, not just the BBC.

My brother lost his bank card outside The Banker's and within 2 hours, someone had picked it up and used the contactless chip to buy themselves a KfC, McDonald's, booze from select and save and pay their utility bill in the kiosk at Castle Square.

How did he know where he’d lost it?

So no more intensive care beds were needed than usual then, glad we clarified that.

Do you think a doctor pretending to be dead in a hospital bed and jumping up in a published video is disrespectful to the families of patients that actually died in hospital (of actual illness, heart attack, cancer etc)?

I’ve not clarified anything with you. You asked where the patients on ventilators were. I told you.

As for your second point, yes I do.

I'd imagine being made to sign a non-disclosure agreement and lie to your friends and family is stressful.

I must’ve been on annual leave the day these were signed.
And I’ve never lied to anyone.
Sheffield Teaching Hospitals alone employs 18,000 people. I can’t believe anyone would be deluded enough to think that this could happen.

So not "overwhelmed" and "at breaking point" then. People who are those things don't come in to work early to prance around doing dance routines.

Any idiot knows there’s different specialties in hospitals.
It was difficult and stressful hospital wide but obviously some areas were affected worse than others.

  9. The ward next door to mine did a brief dance routine video.

They arranged to meet up before their nightshift started to practise and record it.

Whatever your beliefs about covid, it was an awful time for people working in hospitals etc, heaven forbid they had a bit of a laugh in their own time.
