  1. My friend lived on Blackbrook Road and explored the place after it shut down. He remembers old blood stains all over the old lab tables and floors.

I know somebody who lives on the Pines estate (the site of the old facility) who is quite 'spiritual'. When she moved in she said she immediately noticed a strange feeling about the place. Then, at night she would sometimes hear screams wimperings and moans that sounded like 'tortured animals'. This was before I told her what used to stand on the site of her house! She held some kind of exorcism and still lives there... spooky

  2. yes you are right the estate agent should tell a new buyer any information about noisy neighbours and if the other people that has moved out of the house did not supply this information the are liable, you have got a good case, Wheres that Solicitor what come on S,F he may be able to offer advice but in any case you are allowed 30 minutes free with any solicitor i think you have a good case.

How is the estate agent to know about noisy neighbours if they werent informed by the seller??

As part of the conveyance the seller would normally complete a questionaire that touches on disputes with neighbours etc.

    Where is Jeffrey Shaw?!

  3. On the suggestion of another poster on here, I recently tried the Old Post Office at J38 of the M1. It is the junction after the main Barnsley A61 turn off, going north. Takes about 20-25 mins from the city centre.

If that's not too far for you to go then you will find very good steaks in a fairly simple pub/diner type place, right next to the motorway. They present the meat, uncooked at the table and you tell them where to put the knife and you can have as big a steak as you want. It's mostly locally sourced meat and I have to say it is very good indeed.

Can't remember you mentioned this to me now and can't find it on this thread, but thanks anyway.

Pleasure sir! Glad you approved. I like a steak but am no connoisseur like yourself so you have confirmed to me that its good!

  4. Yea well done for stepping in. You did the right thing. Whether or not it was the sensible thing I dunno. It's good you're ok though.

All to often you see the female in these altercations suddenly side with the bloke she's fighting with and turn on the good samaritan then its two against one. Dunno why they do it

  5. So you'd rather I'd left him suffering until he got to the emergency dentists and the vet had done exactly the same as I did and charged my friends £300 for the privilege? The tooth was hanging out and the cat was purring and eating within 10 minutes, whereas he hadn't eaten for days beforehand.

He was taken to the vets the following day, the vet agreed that we'd done the right thing and he got some antibiotics to clear up the abscess and was booked in for the dental work to be completed.

I'm talking about your friend. Her cats not eaten for a few days, is obviously in great pain, so she calls any old pal round to take a look then lets them perform some home surgery on it!! you couldnt make it up...

  6.

I think the most interesting one recently was my new title- emergency cat dentist. One of my friends called me to take a look at her cat as his mouth was obviously troubling him and he wouldn't let her look. He'd got a canine tooth half in the socket and moving about, and they couldn't get him to a vet for another 15 hours unless they paid for an emergency vet, so I took the tooth out for him. It took only a couple of seconds and he had obviously been in such pain with it that he hadn't eaten for days so he started eating within 10 minutes of it being taken out.

    Hmmm... very irresponsible

  7. well it has its good parts and bad parts like everwhere else. Oh, and the people are lovely, not snobs, and will actually talk to you not like in Dore. Thats the correct thing to say!

In actual fact you wouldnt live there by choice and statistically you're probably more likely to get shot or stabbed there than any other area in Sheffield.

  8. Score one for the good guys.

And your daughter learns a valuable lesson - especially about ripsaw.

    What's she learnt about me??!

She's HAS learnt that perseverance pays off! Many valuable lessons in this happy ending tale. But please make sure she is punished for not taking care of her posessions in the first place. Maybe a weeks ban on the scooter
