  1. Don't take this the wrong way but I like women with a bit on their tums and hips. Twiggy style does nothing for me. Don't let it get you down too much.
  2. Builders have it hard enough at this time of year.
  3. I don't know about the upper car park but the bottom car at night often has boy racers meet up. yes it can be a bit intimidating but I tend not to park near them. There is also the odd kids around on scooter and bikes. Maybe these kids was a bit to cheeky and was taught a lesson. I made fun of a teen Salavtion Army lad once when I was about 10. I ran off like you do but he caught me and gave me a good kicking. Never did that again ever! But since as an adult I have 10-13 years taking the Michael out of me. Cheeky little sods, if I could have caught the little bl eeders I would have kicked them up the a rse! Assault or no assault I would have risked it.
  4. What colour was they? A red Jimney is a start but are we looking for whites, blacks, asians?
  5. What if they are? You either vote for them or you don't.
  6. I have a small business as a sole trader but want to become Ltd. Only £60k turnover and no vat. Use Moneysoft money manager and will be in the new co. Anyone know of a reasonable priced accountant for the ltd co year end return that doesn't cost a months wages?
  7. I have not read the other thread related to this but I think Medusa has mentioned a film in between. The Showroom will show your favourite film for you for a fee. They also have a restaurant, maybe they could put you some sandwiches together.
  8. I agree! And can't blame the goverment for doing this. Fossil fuels will start to run out so lets exploit other countries reserves and keep our own.
  9. Is it YES I do not live in Sheffield and NO I do live in Sheffield or the other way round?
  10. I use Mercury all the time and rarely have any trouble. But saying that I am a regular customer so may get some priority. On the other hand I know what area's Mercury has a stronghold and where they are weak. If I am in no hurry then I wait, until they they turn up, but if I am rushed and in a weak area then I will try City or Network depending where I am (North Sheffield City, South Sheffield Network). I find 5pm,ish the worst time, day lads have gone home and night drivers dont come out until at least 6pm. Most drivers are o.k but even some of the regular drivers can be grumpy if they have had a bad day. It only takes the wrong wording or attitude to turn someone over the edge. As for route, well if it is not a 'known' driver then I always tell them the preffered route. Most drivers don't mind, they know they can't get it wrong if they go your way.
  11. Ignore the quote! Highlighted the wrong one:hihi:
  12. Oh! Get a life! Have you any idea what crap taxi drivers take of passengers and the general public? Good for him if he got out and sorted out this disrespectfull citizen. As for the cigarette smoke, what makes you think it was his? You get a passenger in who then lights up and if you tell him not to smoke you risk a gob full of bad attitude. Maybe that's why he flipped his lid. I suggest you try being a cabby and you will realise that not all the passengers you will pick up are nice people. Some are best put against a wall and shot. The world would be a nicer and safer place without them.
  13. Any private hire would be able to quote you. They will have a set fare for Donny but Would be better if you have the 2 post codes, it might be cheaper by the mile. Try ringing a Donny taxi Co. A Sheffield Co might take the booking but then they have got to find a driver to 'volunteer' to take the chance of going to Doncaster for what could be a no pickup. Also when you get to the Dome, ring the taxi Co to establish a convenient pick up point, the driver needs to know where you will be. If it was the Sheffield Arena for instance, I would suggest the Arena pub or the Kentucky Fried Chicken for example. Somewhere easy to find and convenient to get to bearing in mind what traffic will be around. Good Luck!
  14. I read on a previous post that there's an assumption of a driver earning 25K a year! I get taxi's regulary during the day and can get to talk business with no problem. I fail to see how a 9-5 Mon to Fri private hire driver can make anymore than minimum wage! In my opinion it's a bit of a mugs game but when I ask why do they carry on, most say it's the only job they know and some actually enjoy it? Good luck to them and personally I would have Christmas off. £2 extra per job isn't worth upsetting your family for. There's always some miserable grumpy ungratefull sod who would give out grief for charging an extrs £2. There's plenty of Asians who work over Christmas, let them have it. There money to be made during Eade? with a shortage of Asians celebrating their own special day what taxi's are working are rushed off their feet. As for New years Eve, then why not charge an extra £2? The driver should be celebrating with his friends and family instead of making other peoples night happy at the expense of their own. If people object to it then walk home on principle.
