What is this about an alternate personality - why cant I praise local home grown Sheffield talent ? Yes drag queens can be so good - I last saw Lilly Savage at the foot of the pier in Blackpool a few years back and she gave a good performance ... why cant Sheffield have its own drag bar - dont call it "Funny Girls" more like "By eck thou's funny" - I have heard there are a few ex-miners and steeel workers who want to get together to put on a drag show ... it would be good ....

Well .. Sheffield has some very alluring and sexy drag queens - some of them go round on bicycles and occassionally compete in talent contests too and are very arty and high brow ...

Plastic glasses - how horrible - Affinity bar tried this when it opened but soon had to stop when sophisticated customers like me went along less ..

I could not be tempted to go into Sanctuary at the moment for a very specific reason mentioned earlier in this thread ;-)

I went to Rossis a few months ago for first time - loved th eItalian decor , the food was ok, the service probably a bit diffident but then I dont know if its just the italian way since it seems to be run by a close italian family for a long time ...

I do hope this was just an isualted incident - on the whole the area seems safe to walk about in ..

They always entertaining and there are plenty of them in Sheffield - top of my list was going to be the fabulous Tyranna Tia Anna Rex who is multi-talented .... Im not sure Kanja Batch is a full timedrag queen - doesnt she work in Nettos also scanning the bar codes? What about Penny Change she is very rude and thus is very good - its a prerequisite of a drag queen to be rude to the punters ... and there must be more in Sheffield but names escape me at moment ..

Isn't abbeydale grange the school where all kids that are muslim are taught in their own language instead of english - I cant see this being avery sucessful strategy seeing as how the school is situated in the UK?

How about the Viaduct in Leeds and Paddys Goose in Manchester, the dollys bar or flying wig or whatever its called in Blackpool?? Just 3 examples ...

Contrary to recent contentious postings on this thread I quite agree with setting up a new gay mens group in fact several e.g. if artistic gays want their own group then they should have one too ... I have a very small circle of close gay friends and I'm always up for widening my inner circle so please let me know where this group meets so that we can have more social intercourse away from the noisy scene ...

Leeds has them, Manchester has them, why are there no drag bars in sheffield? I can think of at least 10 very good quality drag acts in Sheffield who could perform in them - thats a different drag queen every night .... Maybe open up the new Matilda bar which used to host drag acts and it was gay friendly ...... What do people think?

Yes that area would make a great gay area for sophisticated gay artist types ... It even has its own small river Porter that could be uncovered more to create a whole bank of gay bars lining it and chi chi new apartments and stylish shops ... oh and a drag bar which I hope will be gay friendly ..

No the Sheffield Council wont allow it - but we have Dempseys instead which is much better .... and two other bars ..one is smelling of sick at the moment :-(

I was passing down that back passage the other day beside the Mulberry and I saw some workmen in hard hats hammering away at its rear entrance taking away old crap to try and widen it - since the old back doors do look a tight squeeze - I'm sure that will be the first step towards re-opening it ...

Why did you not go as that famous footballer Wilfred Owen Tia? Yes it would have been less busy minus one Carbs who is on holiday - hope to make the September one ..maybe SpiderPete will come too ...

This is a major stupid activity that many posh upmarket bars escpecially the Old House commit - having ALL their bar staff making cocktails with none available to serve generic drinks - why cant they just have one or two committed cocktail makers or better still a separate cocktail bar so that all the regular drink buying public dont do an about face and walk out after 10 mins of non service like i did !

Yes Tia it would be lovely to reopen the old Matilda pub once again .. didnt it used to have a drag queen event I went there once and there were THREE drag queens there !
