PDC Players Championship Finals will be at Doncaster Dome from Thursday 8th to Sunday 11th December. The world's best darts players will return to Doncaster later this year, after the PDC confirmed that the Players Championship Finals will be held at The Dome from December 8-11. The Dome staged the four-day, £250,000 tournament in February as 32 players battled for the £60,000 first prize, which was eventually taken by Phil Taylor with a narrow 13-12 defeat of Gary Anderson in the final. The success of February's tournament has seen the Professional Darts Corporation confirm that the event's next staging will be held back in Doncaster. The Players Championship Finals will be brought forward by two months in the calendar, to follow hot on the heels of the final qualifying Players Championships, which will be held the previous weekend in Wigan. Professional players such as Taylor, Anderson, three-time World Champion John Part and current World Champion Adrian Lewis will compete in 31 Players Championships around the world during the course of 2011, with the top 32 performers qualifying to compete in the Finals in Doncaster. "The Players Championship Finals have gone from strength to strength since the first event was held in January 2009," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn. "Phil Taylor and Paul Nicholson were deserving winners in the first two years, and Phil performed brilliantly in the final against Gary Anderson this February to reclaim the title. "The event is all about seeing the form players from the PDC ProTour circuit coming together in a major event, and by bringing the tournament forward to December this will capture the players in their peak." Nicholson, who did not qualify to defend his title this year after finishing 33rd in the 2010 Players Championship, has already earned his place in December's event after winning three tournaments so far this year. The qualifying rounds of the Betfred.com World Snooker Championship return to the English Institute of Sport - Sheffield next April. Once again the Badminton Hall at the Sheffield venue will host many of snooker's greatest names as they strive to earn a place in the final stages at the Crucible. TICKETS FOR THE QUALIFIERS ARE ON SALE NOW - starting at just £5 (booking fee may apply), representing excellent value to see some of the sport's famous stars and up-and-coming talents. YOUNG VOICES THE LARGEST CHILDREN’S CHOIR CONCERT IN THE WORLD Young Voices is celebrating its 15th Musical year in 2011 with this year’s concert series at the Sheffield Motorpoint Arena. For over 15 years now we have been introducing children to a wide variety of music and performance opportunities by encouraging everyone to learn, enjoy and share music and singing. Over 5,000 children are in each of our 3 concerts at the Sheffield Motorpoint Arena this year. Young Voices believes that music and singing enhances life, that children deserve the best, and that teachers should be encouraged and supported so that they can develop an understanding of music in the children they inspire. We are what music and singing should be to all children: something to love and remember. We currently organise over 14 capacity concerts a year in the UK & Ireland’s leading Arenas. Each year over 2,500 schools, 90,000 children 6,000 teachers and 120,000 family and friends come together with some of the UK’s leading artists to enjoy music and celebrate singing. Premier League Darts will be at the Motorpoint Arena Sheffield on Thursday, 12th April 2012. Tickets are now on sale. http://www.motorpointarenasheffield.co.uk/whats-on/2012-premier-league-darts/ The 2012 Premier League Darts will feature the top four players in the PDC Order of Merit following the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship plus four Wildcards, with the eight players competing over 14 weeks in the league phase before the top four progress to the Play-Offs. Gary Anderson won this year's title with a victory over Adrian Lewis, while Phil Taylor and James Wade have also been crowned as champion since the Premier League Darts was introduced in 2005. Next year's event will begin in Manchester on Thursday February 9 as the eight players compete in the first of 14 nights where they will meet twice in the league phase. Play will then head to the AECC in Aberdeen for night two and across the Irish Sea to Belfast for the third league night at the Odyssey Arena, before returning to England to be played at the Westpoint Arena in Exeter and The Brighton Centre on the first two Thursdays in March. Premier League Darts will visit Dublin for the first time on Thursday March 22 to be held at The O2 as the league phase reaches its halfway point. The Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff will host the eighth league night, with Nottingham's Capital FM Arena, Sheffield's Motorpoint Arena and the BIC in Bournemouth hosting further league nights.
