    Mother’s day Menu

    Starters

    Tres tacos

    Make your own tacos with Soft flour & corn tortillas, chilli & lime prawns, chipotle chicken, refried beans cheese & dips

    Roasted red pepper, tomato & avocado soup

    Coriander cream

    Hot chilli chicken wings,

    Chive cream

    Amigos salad

    Chunky Peppers onion, tomatoes, beans, olives, feta cheese & house dressing

     

     

    Main course

     

    Piri-piri Roast chicken

    Marinated in piri piri spice, served with Mexican sauté potato and sweet corn salsa

    Braised beef steak enchilada

    Soft flour tortilla, with spices braised beef, beans and jalapenos, baked with salsa & cheese sauce.

    Sea bass Fillet

    Red pepper & olive tapenade, sautéed potatoes spring onion broth

    Three bean & vegetable chilli (v)

    Hey ewak, or anyone else that has any suggestions.

     

    I order frequently from Amigos, off hungry house, I normally order the 'large chicken mole enchilada' .

     

    I'm watching my weight these days: in your opinion do you know of any healthier alternatives on your menu, under a thousand calories preferably.

    Hi Jedi4, there are lot of healthy options on the menu , chicken escalope wrap , burritos , fajitas.you can also ask for less or no cheese in any of the items , we also have nice Cactus salad , Amigos salad .

    Hope user ewak can confirm, as i was walking on London Road last night I saw a poster in a (larger) shop giving the impression Amigos would be moving into it.

     

    I hope this is true, anyone else seen it ( it is in what was the 'pretend' Wimpy).

    Hi Everyone ,I would like to thank everyone for all the support we receive from you guys , we will be moving to a bigger place , it is only down the road from where we are (224-230 London), we have already started work there & we are hoping to move there by late September or early October , i will keep updating everyone here. hopefully i should be able to post some pictures soon as well , In the meantime we are open as usual at 272 London Road.

    I decided to order some grub from here tonight as it was pretty good last time. Just a hint, in case you're too busy to check... ordering directly from their own website (amigossheffield.com) attracts a delivery charge of £1.50, while ordering via Just Eat (http://www.just-eat.co.uk) you can get what appears to be the same stuff, for the exact same price, but avoid the £1.50 delivery charge.

     

    I'm assuming folk going via their site don't get bigger portions or something. :suspect:

    Hi our delivery service is free within 3 miles , we only charge customers for delivery if it is outside our delivery area , normally the distance is calculated by the on line system itself , if you think you were wrongly charged for this please accept my apologies , you can ring us & i will make sure you get refunded.

    Please accept my apologies for not having good dining experience at our place, fajitas are our one of our most popular dishes on the menu & to be very honest this is the first time i have heard a complaint about it , i hope it was a blip & definitely wont happen again, one thing i can assure you is the freshness of our ingredients , everything we use is prepared freshly & we normally run out of most of the stuff by end of night.

    I will really appreciate if you can talk to one of our waiters or the manger if you feel something is not up to our usual standards while you are here in the restaurant, this gives us a chance to rectify any mistake made .we take great care in maintaining quality of our food & service & if we see an opportunity to improve we will definitely work on it.

    I went to this place and had fajitas, they were the worst fajitas I have ever had. The chicken was tough and tasteless and the tortillas tasted as though they were out of date. Won't be going back there again, I think it's the worst meal I've ever had out.

    but what a coincidence they chose such a similar name, and appearance, for the place eh? You'd have thought that they would want to distance themselves from the previously failed venture and make it obviously new and different.

     

    I'm still a little suspicious I have to admit...:suspect:

     

    There is no need to be suspicious , Amigos has got nothing to do with Irish kitchen, i am the chef owner of Amigos & i can assure you it is noway linked with previous business , in fact Irish Kitchen closed & then someone opened it as Halo Cafe for some time , i guess they were here for very short time though , we took the place in June 2010 . we liked the way it looks so we spend whatever we felt was important as this is our first restaurant, it was more like a cafe takeaway with a counter fridge & couple of tables previously, we have slowly built on it & now we are more like a small restaurant.

    You should visit our restaurant & i am sure you will enjoy the food & service we provide.

    Amigos - Your food is great masha'Allah!! ... we've been many times and are never disappointed.

     

    Are you planning on expanding at any time soon? There have been a number of occasions we have wanted to come as a large group but the thought of getting there and there not being enough space has sadly put us off :(

    thanks for great comments about our food , Iam glad that you like our food , we are looking at expanding insha allah ,but to be honest i am not sure how long it will take as it depends on lot of other things but i am hoping it will be in 2012. we started in 2010 as a small takeaway with couple of tables but thanks to all you guys for the great response we were able to refurbish ( twice ) & now we can seat over 30 people , as business is growing Most of our regular customers are telling me the same thing that we need a bigger place as they find it difficult to get bookings at times , Hopefully if things go well we will have a bigger place.

    Anyone know if delivery times have become any quicker? Waited an hour and a half for a delivery a few months ago and I don't live too far away. Food was delicious though.

    Please accept my apologies for having to wait so long for your food,

    We are doing our best to improve on delivery timings, most of the times it is lot quicker now , we have got more drivers doing delivery now , All our food is cooked to order not like most of the takeaways where it is prepared & only boxed when you order , i have to be honest on busy times it does take longer than normal but we always try to give an estimated time to make sure it is ok with the customers , best thing is to ask for estimated delivery time on order & see if it suits you , most of the times estimated time will be 45 minutes to an hour & in very busy periods it can be between hour to hour & half.

    we are also planing to start our own online ordering system soon as well & hopefully that should make ordering takeaways lot easier as well.

    i wanted to thank everyone for all the business & the feedback , we have just completed our first year & things are looking good , thanks to all your business. we constantly strive to improve the quality of the food & the service, we know there are issues with delivery times on some busy nights & we are working towards it , we are now going to extend our kitchen & put new customer toilets & few more things in the back area , it should help us to cope with the extra demand & improve the overall experience.

    we will be closed for 2 weeks from Sunday 14th August & reopen in first week of September, i will update you with a definite opening date soon .

    Hi Prettymogli ,

    Please accept my apologies , we are really sorry that it took us very long time to deliver your food this Friday , we are trying our best to ensure such thing doesn't happen again , it was an exceptionally busy evening & all the deliveries orders came within very short period of time & it went bit out of order & few deliveries went late. We are extending our kitchen next month so that we can cope with higher numbers.

    i can assure you we are trying our best to provide our customers with great service & food & such thing should not happen again, once again please accept my apologies .
