  1. Debenhams have a cafe at the top of the moor and do some really lovely food. I've been alone with my then 6 month old and my 2 1/2 year old and found the seating area nice and room enough for my buggy. Also your on the 3rd floor with the kids clothing so win win if you ask me! Lol x
  2. I can second 2roost, we have our home up for sale now with them and the service is fantastic.
  3. There is also one on a Friday at Newton hall, that's lovely also!
  4. Hi my little one goes to these and they are great. He's nearly 3 and only talks when he wants to, he has his own agenda as do all little ones so try not to worry like I did lol. With regard to the talking toddler groups they are just fun groups where the kids go into a room with us parents, (mine goes up to birley nursery school), and it's just like a play group but the staff there who are professionally trained show you ways to help your child begin to develop speech. They start off with songs and then we have a snack and then we have bubbles and toy time and then it's songs again. And everyone is really nice! I was very nervous the first time I went but they are really lovely people at mine! And they don't judge any child on how well they can speak or not it's just literally being more proactive on saying words aloud and giving multiple choice etc. hopes his helps! Which group will you be going to if you don't mind me asking? X

  10. Hi, I have just had my second baby and like you needed a double buggy. I was initially getting the Phil and teds but at around £600 it's too expensive for me, I also just sold my quinny buzz with carry cot so I didn't want another big pram. I came across this one: cosatto double buggy, owl and pussycat. It comes with everything and I managed to get mothercare to price match it for £180. It folds down lovely, and pushes great, it also has cosy toes, rain cover and insulated bottle holders. They have loads of different designs in cosatto double range, I went to see one at toys r us. But boots, Argos, and mothercare sell them also. I'm really happy with this pram. So hope you find one you like too! Xx
  11. Congratulations on becoming pregnant! Xx I was due on the 10th march with baby no2 been in slow labour since my sweep on tuesday last week and even been in jessops with contractions every five mins, and then they stopped??? I cannot work out for the life of my what's going on lol. Going in tomorrow for inducing so will hopefully see my baby very soon. I was 2.5 weeks overdue with no1 so been down inducing route before, I was wishing to go into labor on my own this time! Good luck and hope everyone hope your pregnancies are all lovely and healthy xxx
  12. One of my friends dad is a photographer and he's on Facebook too. His pics of babies are beautiful. The studio is on handsworth top, called jk photography. I know they have some great deals on too, and are a very lovely family! Xxx
  13. I've just packed my bag at 38 weeks!! So unorganized ha ha but i know jessops is quite warm so I have bought a thin dressing gown. Picked up one from primark for £8 it's white with a waffle effect pattern, thought it would do the job. Also got a great top for labour it's a huge shirt nightie that buttons all the way down so I can undo the buttons for b.feeding straight away but can hide the bad bits of my body lol. Even tho it's my second time I'm still concerned about what they will see! Ha ha xx
  14. Strix, I can't believe you were put through that when your baby was only 6 weeks old, not that any age would be acceptable but that's just horrible. There is no wonder the extra stress seeing the hv puts onto new parents when things like this happen. Especially when the system is supposedly to help us out after our babies are born.x
  15. I agree with the babies are not lines on charts comments. My hv have all been lovely and helpful but the slightest waiver on the guidelines and I felt like the worst parent in all the land! Especially with my first son. Now I'm due again and I am really only taking my new baby to be weighed for my piece of mind not really because I think the hv have anything to help me with. I constantly worried about seeing them as I was made to feel very early on that if I didn't do what the books say then I'm clearly not a good parent. Which is very sad as I know they are there to help. Also my husband felt very disturbed by the fact she asked me if I had been abused by him while he was there! I totally agree with asking women this as there will be women and children out there that would unfortunately go through this but I think a more discreet way of asking or maybe a different way of finding out the information would be ideal. Since then my husband worried about being there for these appointments as he thinks if he's there will the hv be thinking its to keep me quiet rather than just being a great dad and husband? Sorry to ramble on I just have not had much luck myself with hv. Again not like I said they are lovely people!
