Hi All, Need some assistance with an issue I have. About a month ago we bought an Vauxhall Astra Van and have had various issues with it. The final thing which needs sorting is the bumper. The bumper doesn't seem to want to fit in place on the van and is hanging off from either side. It seems the bumper doesn't want to fit on the van even though its the bumper for the van. Anyone have any ideas of how to sort this? Would a mechanic have a look into this kind of issue??

hmm really? I can't find any on Ebay. Resorted to filing in a few forms on scrap yards, and spare part dealers to see what they come back with. 1 came back with the quote for £799 exc VAT and exc Delivery

2 Diff mechanics have both said it may be cheaper to get a new engine rather than replacing parts. But been quoted approx £600-£1000 for parts and labour, but tried looking for a used engine and they are about £1k so not too sure why this option would be cheaper :-/

Thanks for the responses. Had it checked out by an engine specialist today. He believes its the piston that's on its way out and that's what is causing the strange sound. He passed me a number for some guy who works at Vauxhall who has quoted £800 to £1k to fix it. Does this seem a reasonable price, or do you think it could be cheaper elsewhere? The damn van is only worth about £2.5k!!

2 different people have guessed crank shaft... one was a mechanic but didnt look at the van in too much detail. Maybe its not, taking it to an engine garage tomorrow but was trying to get a rough idea of cost if they decide that is the problem. I have no idea about cars, so the crank shaft isnt damaged by over heating?

Do any mechanics on here know the approx cost of a crank shaft replacement? Its for a 07 vauxhall astra van. Radiator had a major leak which made the engine over heat while on motorway causing the can to break down and need rev Recovering. Its had a replacement radiator but now is making some strange sounds when running.

And on the online FAO it says if you fill your self assessment in online you should rec your repayment within 10 working days - I filed mine on the 14th april

Hi I am self employed and have paid tax which i am due a refund on. I completed my tax return in April and requested the repayment into my bank account. I was about to call them the other day when it said it can be taking them up to 4 weeks to process the repayments - this is today and i still haven't rec anything. I've logged into my self ass on HMRC and it doesn't say i am due a refund on the front screen anymore as it did beofre - i now have to go into payments/credits rec to see my balance owed to me and next to this the date states the 31 Jan 2013. Is this when i will rec my tax refund? Or should i still get it in the near future? It just says repayment pending - I'm a little confused as to what is going on Thanks

What is PEBKAC meant to mean?

Hi I'm wanting to watch the lost seasons from where i last saw it a few years ago. Can someone please help me know which season i saw last please? Thought asking would be easier than researching it incase someone just knows. From what i remember the last parts i saw was early into the part where they found that underground sort of steel building (not sure if thats what it is but i think you will know what i mean if you have watched the episodes) Thanks if anyone can help if not ill have to just start from scratch!

Is anyone else having trouble logging into lovefilm through internet explorer? I have been trying for the last 20 mins to get logged in and it just takes me back to the main start up screen! Getting really annoyed... Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? Ive done a few things in my internet options like deleting cookies as the website sugested but nothing is happening!!!! And yes my username and password are correct - that is not the issue
