  1. I dunno, inside sources have told me that they were exceeding their targets of 60k a year, but M&B have been losing money so had to recuperate some. With three scream pubs in Sheffield, one of them had to go and the York was the least profitable and/or in the least desirable location.
  2. They should definitly bring back the yellow and burgundy colour scheme and get some comfortable seating. It was a shame M&B had to sell the lease on the York, the Broomhill student population really is an untapped gold mine
  3. Good news that you've got an experienced chef. Last time I went there it was pretty shabby and didn't live up to the competition. Now you might hope to compete with the other sushi restuarants in sheffield. Good luck to you...
  4. Anyone who missed the match didn't miss much, sloppy football from both teams, one lucky goal after a fine tackle in the box. Sheffield's tactics of long balls didn't cut it, probably because they were down a few strikers. The only good thing about the game was Sheffield's defending with a couple of outstanding tackles to deny Burnley a few clear cut chances. Atleast now united can invest in some more players, maybe a new manager and start playing some premiership standard football. Good luck to em next season, with the teams that have been relegated and the teams contending for promotion this season they'll certainly need it...
  5. Seemed like there were a few hundred genuine blades fans at best, the atmosphere was about as good as the York on a wednesday night...
  6. The guy you're talking about is Arshavin and to be fair to him he's new to England and £80,000 sounds like a lot more than the 40 odd thousand he's getting. Maybe there was a bit of a language barrier when he was negotiating his contract, but when lesser players are getting payed more to play for crap clubs I think he's justified in asking to renegotiate his contract. I'm more than happy for players to get paid ridiculous amounts of money if they keep the nation entertained. Their careers are reliant on them being match fit for years on end and if they have a reoccuring injury or a career ending injury then their source of income is gone. Don't see why players shouldn't earn ridiculous wages given how short their professional careers are. They need to plan for the future more than most, so hows about we all get off their backs...
  7. Better to have students than to have areas of Sheffield empty. I think students do a lot more for Sheffield's businesses than they get back in discounts. Plus there are plenty of ways to cheat the system and get discount cards without actually being a student. Hows about you use your initiative pal...
  8. Looks a little pikey, but on the plus side you can write obscenities on the garden furniture
  9. 5 years for posessions of cannabis, yet only a 12 month driving ban and fine for drink driving. That's lunacy and if you think it's justified then you my friend are deluded...
  10. Universities are pretty hot on plagiarism nowadays. They have software put in place to detect it, which includes a back catalogue of hundreds of thousands of past essays. The only way to get a degree using other peoples work is to get essays specifically made for you and these can cost hundreds of pounds each. The sensible thing to do would be to learn the course, perhaps spend the money on a tutor and avoid the risk of being kicked out of university. Degrees would be worthless if everyone was doing this, but then again you could make a fortune putting your degree into practice by writing essays for lazy students. With so few people doing this and with the likelihood of getting caught being so high, it doesn’t seem like university degrees are worthless. It’s just the case that a small percentage of students are worthless…
  11. What in the hell is wrong with a coupla kids smoking a bit of cannabis in a park on a nice 'summers' day!? Wasn't harming anyone, gives off a pleasant aroma and apart from being illegal, it really is a victimless crime. Would you rather some tramps were shooting up legally prescribed methadone?? If you are then I would question your priorities when it comes to looking after your kids...
  12. Avoid self mutilation and sell drugs, it's a victimless crime and everyone's a winner...
  13. Yama Sushi do takeaway sushi, they also deliver for a small fee. Google them and go nuts...
  14. I agree with kevje, Yama Sushi is the best place for sushi in Sheffield, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Reasonable prices, great service and all in a quaint little restaurant. Go for the dragon roll, haven't seen it in any other sushi places in Sheffield but it's <removed> amazing. You'd be spending money unnecessarily going to Wasabisabi and you'd be getting sub standard sushi at sakushi, so get on down to Yama Sushi!
