CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL St James will once again be holding our Christmas Tree festival over the weekend of Friday 2nd December to Monday 5th December. Last year was a fantastic weekend where our community came together and the church looked wonderful for the whole of the advent and Christmas decked out with Christmas trees and art work from our local schools. We know this year will be even better. Thursday 1st December – Church will be open for decoration: If you would like to contribute a tree to the display please call Jean Down on 0114 2693674 – donations welcome from those displaying a tree. Friday 2nd December – Woodhouse Prize Band concert Doors open 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start Tickets cost £5 and are available by calling 0114 2451142, via their website or on the door Saturday 3rd December – St James Christmas Fair 11.00am – 2.00pm Stalls, raffles, cakes and drinks & freshly cooked hot dogs If you would like a stall at the fair please contact Jean Dowd on 0114 2693674 and a donation for the hire of the table would be welcome Sunday 4th December – All Age Service & Buskers afternoon 10.30am All Age Service – all welcome 3.00pm Buskers group and Christmas Buffet Please put these dates in your diary and it would be great to see you at all or any of these events as we enter the advent period and the run up to Christmas. Can anyone else hear The Humming, a persistent, low-frequency noise that i can hear all day but louder at night when all is quiet .. Seems to virate through the walls and can hear in all rooms .. Turned off the power in my flat so it not any of my electrics .. Had housing officer out who heard it but done nothing ! Its driving me up the wall .. Theres not only me that hears it so can my partner .. But tge people in downstairs flat say they cant hear anything .. Just wondwred anyone else is being kept awake by it ?

My other half been today and was charged £8.50 before 12pm ..Last time we went a couple month back was £6 .. Have checked on cineworld pricelist and yes its £8.50 why the sudden rise .. will be sticking to 241 wednesdays and vue cinema from now on ..

Anybody else being drove mad by the continual barking of dogs on Stradbroke Road ?? Never used to hear any , now it seams like its all the time ..not just one dog ,sounds like quite a few ... Im not sure which house but its general area seems to be houses just past city school on right hand side ... Gone quiet at the moment .. see if i can drop off !!!

for your information i don't clutter and i know they don't belong to me !!!!! i keep tidy the communal area where i live. which is more than i can say for some people who live in flats. i garden, pick up litter i care about where i live and like it looking nice not drab. which is what they will all be looking like soon..

Today i received a health & safety in communal areas letter .. As have everbody else who lives in a flat probably.... Informing us we have 1 month to remove potted plant & door mat !! Phoned sheffield council up and they said its a fire hazard .. 3 pot plants up against the window , out side my door, not in any way causing an obstruction to us or anyone else and in pot planters... doormat is a fire hazzard and some one could trip over it ????? CRAZY !!!!!! Plus i am also breaching my tenancy conditions, but what about all the people who have got cats & dogs and are breaching theirs ??????

is it true that what ever she earns ( gets another job or dss money )whilt waiting for this to be settled will be taken out of the money she would be entitled too.

Was Browsing through a book in WHSmiths when i saw my partner as a five year old in a old class picture. Can confirm this as i have the individual school pic taken of him, left by his mumin her photo album. Would be nice if we could put any names to faces as he cant remember anybody. He's Darren Brown in the top left corner . His parents were Audrey and Albert Brown and they lived on febra street, I think thats right ?? oldest son is Michael. My inlaws lived there Audrey n Albert Brown, moved to hackenthorpe 1972 ish. Audrey had brother named Ray Grantham who still lives in Darnall. recently found these pics of phillimore school infants 1970 my partner is top left.
