  1. Thanks for such kind words. Massive hole in our lives and hearts tonight. And for Blake, who keeps going to his grave and looking for his best mate.
  2. We got Bailey from the dog pound 2 years ago. An elderly Weimerana. This morning we had to make the decision to have him put to sleep. He has been the best dog ever. Dignified and kind, peaceful and gentle. Everybody he met loved him. This week, he stopped eating, slowed right down, and last night, his back legs collapsed. This morning, he was weaker. So, the vet came, and the decision was made. We have been so blessed to have him as part of our lives. We are so sad.
  3. We make them. If you want to check out the kind of stuff we do, have a look at Spurgeon Dog Collars on fb. We can make to suit if you're interested.
  4. I've always thought this is great idea. I have to pop home at lunch to let mine out and sometimes have to work later, so if I had a local arrangement with someone, I'd be well chuffed.
  5. Our beloved rescue cat (from Rain Rescue 3 years ago) literally dropped dead in our kitchen yesterday. What a shock. My eldest son n I dashed to vets, but he was definitely gone. Gutted. Funniest most lovely cat ever. Will miss his companionship whilst cooking, him shouting for food, battering the dogs, and squeezing into any box he could find. He used to sleep in the bathroom sink, or with his face in the food bowl, n sometimes with all 4 legs in the air in my arms in my bed. Bless him.
  6. Any further recommendations please? The thread is quite old, so don't know if prior ones still recommended? Thanks
  7. I was there when the kids were trying on to model the new stuff. They all agreed they liked it, looked smart, told the head he had done a good job in choosing it, and had a discussion about appropriate shoes. It'll be fine.
  8. We have just brought home a 3 yr old springer. A rehome situation from nice family who seem to have fallen on hard times. New doggy is lovely and Bailey our v old weimerana is being remarkably patient. However, he , the new one, is not v car savvy and the journey needed both of us ! So, I think we need crate in back of car for a while. Does anyone have one we cd borrow please..... Or buy......Tomorrow.......
  9. My partner was too upset to deal with this at the time. I agree that the company needs chance to discuss, n hopefully resolve as we have received excellent service there and no problems with these or any other suits for several years. In mean time, we need to find a way of making jackets wearable. Thanks for suggestions. We will look into them
  10. My partner took her very expensive suits to dry cleaners , we have used these cleaners for years with no problems, however when these were picked up, the suit jackets were all crinkled. The person serving just dismissed my partners complaints, saying it just happens and something to do with the interfacing. Obviously this needs resolving, but she was so upset and angry that she left. We need to now find someone who can fix this. Then we can sort out the complaint! But, she needs the suit jackets for work. So can anyone recommend the most suitable/ best place to go. We'd like to drop them off today if poss..... Any suggestions?
  11. We have a hedgehog hut but no hedgehog! Happy to rehome one if that is any use ever?
  12. I make them too. Def do liver ones. My pooch does somersaults for those...... And yes they freeze well. Really easy to do. One evening a month can make enough for ages. Loads recipes on Internet and pinterest. There was a lovely lady at last sharrow market with all sorts of lovely treats, pawbon biscuits and other such amusing names! Sorry cant remeber who but she might be on here.
  13. Hacked out about 12 foot hedge of privet. Don't have a shredder..... Any ideas about what to do with the mountain of blasted privet now in my back garden?!
  14. Our weimerana is from the pound about a month ago. He is the best behaved dog I've ever met. We took him home straight away. What a star. Would def look in pound again for a rescue.
  15. Well we had Steve the dog trainer round yesterday. Not cos bailey is badly behaved. Far from it, he's nicest dog I've ever met. But my partner has never had a dog before, and I thought it would be good idea to make sure we were both doing same thing in same way. So apart from trying to persuade dog that car is a good place to be, all is well. Steve is nice and I found it reassuring that I was doing all right things and my partner got to hear it from someone else too. We got some good tips as well, to do with all sorts of bits, so thanks Steve.
