Having searched for a particular leisure management post-grad course I want to do, Sheffield is the only Uni in the UK that offers what I'm looking for so am seriously thinking about going there for a year.
Are there any Sheffield current students/graduates here who would like to tell me all about what Sheffield has to offer? Being from Scotland, I don't know many English cities and have never been to Sheffield (though the cities I have visited so far were great!).
Looking for info such as
- Accommodation - is it easy to find places to let with other students?
- Plenty student employment (part-time) opportunities?
- Nightlife (get my priorities right!) - any good? Better than Glasgow?!?!
- Health clubs? What's the Uni gym like?
- Easy to get to Peak District? Is there plenty mountain biking?!
- Transport? Cheap?
- Is it a friendly and safe city? Are the Scottish made welcome?! (hope so!)
- What is the university area like?
Would be quite daunting heading off down on my own and not knowing anyone so any info helping me make this decision would be much appreciated! (couldn't resist this wee chap)
