  1. If you have a water meter fitted and get a burst pipe when you are on holiday it can cost a fortune.
  2. I wonder if anyone has thought of fitting 3 funnels to the car roof as on the Queen Mary?
  3. I love you too. You might like to take note of the mod note above.
  4. I don't think so but I'm sure you will be able to spin something to fit in with your continued rant. So what do you do for a living? Public sector no doubt.
  5. And what makes you more of an expert on these things than the Bundersbank, the US Senate and our Govt? Do try to put forward a credible arguement if you expect others to take you seriously. That can't be too difficult for even you to understand.
  6. As you obviously cannot read your own question I will post it again for you.. I had actually thought that you were trying to make a point about your perception of how the current government is acting as opposed to your left wing ideals and how your beloved Labour Party would be doing things.. So just what is your point?
  7. I really wonder what your point is if you actually have one. The Lib/Dems may well destroy themselves. If they do and split to coalition it will mean electoral disaster for them. The L/Ds take more seats of the Tories than they do from Labour. It was only the surge in L/D support that prevented an outright Tory election win in the first place.
  8. As I pointed out earlier you quote an article written 3 weeks after the General Election and things have moved on quite a bit since then. But if those are the straws you need to grasp at go ahead. You and longcol can huff and puff and name call all you like but it won't alter the situation. The opinion polls show Cameron is held in high regard and if an election were called would be likely to be returned to power as head of a majority Conservative Government. On the other hand the Lib/Dems have had a slating and would on current polling expect to be down to 18 seats in an election. Just ask yourself are the L/Ds really going to rock the boat in those circumstances. Lie to yourself if you like. It doesn't alter the facts..:hihi:
  9. It warms the cockles of my heart to know that the Labour Party has plenty of people like yourself to guarantee they stay in opposition for many years to come.
  10. So you think you know something about it do you? What was all that about in the 1970s when Kinnock was trying to purge the party of the lunatic fringe? Tony Blair was a smarmy 2 faced liar but he did more or less unite the party and has proved to be the only person who could make Labour electable for more than 35 years. He even convinced me to vote for him once.
  11. More a condemning endigtment of the administration that lied about the threat and took us to war than the one that inherited the mess.
  12. I always thought opinion polls were conducted by asking people their opinions... but it if helps you get through the day you can believe what you like. By the way you could perhaps ask yourself about the ÂŁ1 trillion of debt and an annual government overspend of ÂŁ150 billion that the last government handed over when you question the extreme measure. I think you will find that most people in this country are intelligent enough to realise why cuts are being made. Hence the poll ratings.
  13. So as you regard all the current candidates for Labour leader as lightweights, which of these no hopers do you think would satisfy the Scargill fringe most? And what do you think will be their reaction when they get Millipede instead?
  14. It makes a change for you not to be quoting figures from the Trotsky Times. Sadly you break your habit by using a source dated 2nd June. Hardly cutting edge..:loopy: Do you read the papers that your chips are wrapped in? Try this from the mainstream UK Polling report last week. QUOTE On leader approval rating Cameron is doing well – from 48% straight after becoming PM (when 40% said don’t know, reasonably enough), his approval rating peaked at 64% in mid-June and remains high at 58%. His disapproval rating has gradually risen over the last two months, largely as Labour supporters initially willing to give him the benefit of the doubt have shifted over to disapproval. His net approval rating is currently +28. Detailled perceptions of Cameron underline how the mantle of office has improved the way the public see him. His ratings on being strong, decisive and sticking to what he belives in are all up significantly. The quality where he scores the least remains “good in a crisis”, followed by being in touch with ordinary people, where he hasn’t really improved since the election. The only measure where he has dropped is on being charismatic – people are starting to Cameron as a strong leader, rather than just a charming one. In contrast Nick Clegg’s figures have been on a downwards trend since the general election – this seems to be a continuation of the decline since the the peak of “Cleggmania” after the first debate. On some ratings, including honesty, being in touch with ordinary people and sticking to what he believes in, Clegg is now back to the sort of figures he got pre-debates. On other ratings like being decisive and charismatic he is still seem considerably more positively than at the start of the year.
  15. And neither do they get elected to government, particularly when it is their own supporters who are branding all the candidates as lightweights. Arthur would be proud of you.
  16. Have you got round to asking titanic which aspect of iceberg ramming he supports? But to get back on track. At the moment the Labour Party hasn't got a leader to divide itself behind. So how is an old leftie like you going to react when the wrong Millipede is made leader?:D:D
  17. Exactly as I said. You might like to reflect on whether the Labour Party will self destruct when it runs its leadership election.
  18. You have to laugh really about the lefties slagging off the L/Ds. The point is that we have a coalition government and we will continue to have a coalition government with Cameron as Prime Minister until the next election. There are only 2 ways that an election will happen before the end of a 5 year term. 1.. If Cameron wants one. 2 The Government loose a vote of no confidence. This is the really funny bit. Camerons popularity in the opinion pollshas soared since the election whilst the L/Ds flower has waned rather. So if the L/Ds think an election won't do them any good they are hardly likely to force one. What a fantastic Catch 22 situation. Over to you in the Kremlin.:D
