I've used Byte Computers in the past and been well satisfied with both service and price. (No connection with or financial interest in this company)

'What you got was what you saw', a sad day, that woman could sure whoop ass. RIP

Good luck to you pal. I don't need anything at the moment, but as we all know good plumbers offering a decent service at a fair price are like gold dust these days so I'll copy your number for future reference.

None of us is whiter than white, but one silly mistake on one day, probably influenced by alcohol, will have blown his whole professional and possibly personal life forever. We don't know whether this was an isolated incident or one of many but doesn't this show how disastrous this kind of behaviour can be for somebody who should have known better because of his position. Sad and unnecessary for both him and his family (assuming he has one) and the lady concerned.

Yes, she's so elegant, and you get the feeling she cares about what she's reading, unlike many others who are so mechanical.

Yes, I am a recent convert to womens' football, having been quite resistant for some time, and now prefer to watch these games in preference to mens. The standard of play is at least as skilful, and the fact that there is virtually no spitting shows that this can de done by men too, disgusting.

Yes, this seems legitimate to me, with no commercial element, so can't we help this lady? It seems a bit mean not to.

Brill series; almost at the end of season 2, and love it, old Racquel from Rovers (Corrie) is a blooming brilliant actress; with a real gritty down to earth dry sense of humour.
Series 3 is every bit as good, if not better than the first two in my opinion. Won't spoil if for you, but well worth the binge watch if you've got the time 🙂

Yes, very sad for all those people who have lost their jobs and all that goes with this. Hopefully another carrier will take some on, although with consumer spending being under increasing pressure and affecting the holiday market vacancies may be restricted.

I'm right behind you Tipstaff, you don't need to feel guilty in my opinion. I'm on the opposite side to you in that I'm now on my own, but I am very careful not to be needy and hang onto the coat tails of friends who have been, and still are, generous enough to support me in my hour of need as they say. There is nothing more guaranteed to lose friends than for you to make them to feel guilty about your predicament. When you find yourself on your own for whatever reason , you have to reach out for new frontiers as well as those enjoyed in the past. Sometimes it's not easy, but if you try hard enough you can recover from the dip many of us find ourselves in due to events.

Yes, this is only a bit of fun, sadly a bit lacking nowadays

I always thought of her as Yvonne Claptrap - she always got so many things wrong :-)

I met Bev Bevan and Roy Wood of the Move at Bailey's Club in the late 1960's. At the time The Move had a reputation of being the bad boys of pop, smashing TV sets on stage and publishing an obscene cartoon of Harold Wilson for which they were sued and lost thousands in royalties which went to charity. Both were totally different to their public image though, very friendly and willing to chat at length, with no feeling of being the great I am as many stars do. I also met Jimmy Savile and have his autograph, although maybe the less said of that the better!

I wasn't aware there was a problem with soap. I bought a multi bar block of Dove soap from Tesco Abbeydale Road recently, no problem. Maybe I was lucky!

I had some time to kill the other day at the NHS Walk In Centre on Broad Lane and used up some minutes by fiddling about with my phone recently enabled for 5G. A speed test of the 5G system available in this City Centre location was blistering, with a download of 175 or more mbits per sec instead of the maximum 30 or so available by 4G where I live. For normal browsing this improvement appears marginal and will probably not be considered essential, but for downloads the difference is enormous and will probably be of some interest to more heavy duty film and music downloaders.

I wouldn't be too bashful abut this problem which happens to many of us at some time to a greater or lesser degree. Like nurses, most of these people will have seen it all before and will take it in their stride. It might be worth giving them a verbal run down of the problem before you agree a visit though so they are aware of what to expect.

This sounds like a case for Jeffrey Shaw, our resident legal eagle, but given that you are up to date with your payment I would say you have nothing to fear. The letter is probably a scatter gun 'round robin' to all their leaseholders hoping that any defaulters will make good their arrears and maintain what for the freeholder is probably quite a poor return on their investment. I would email them and tell them that to date you have both paid what is due under the lease and it is your intention to do so in the future. Given that, I can't see any judge finding against you. I had a leasehold house and to my shame got behind 10 years in my payments, the result being that when I moved I just had to pay off the arrears of about £150. I have no knowledge of and can't speak for Fee Simple Estates, but sometimes these ground rents are sold in a batch to remote investors who can try to impose high charges for their grant of consent for alterations, extensions etc to compensate for the relatively small ground rents they receive.

If your caught weeing in the sea you will be fined 600 euros.
Is this a good thing or not, do you have a crafty tiddle in the sea when no one is looking
I personally think it's a good thing, apart from the fact it could discolour the sea, it would also contribute to combat rising sea levels.
Should Britain follow Spain's lead and ban it, perhaps coastal erosion wouldn't be so bad if it was banned.
If you are holidaying in Brid, Scarboro, Skeggy, Whitby etc. please use the land based public toilets.
This whole thing does seem to me like taking the proverbial 😊

I am so disappointed to hear the news this week as I have flown from DSA several times in the past and it would always have been my airport of choice. The small size of the airport, which was attractive to me and many others, would however probably have been viewed as a negative factor by the likes of Easyjet, Jet2, Ryanair etc who probably just did not view it as large enough to meet their volume of passengers, Maybe the airport was also not willing or able to offer the kind of terms demanded by the big boys in a competitive industry. TUI will probably back out of DSA next as they have severe unrelated problems from the look of it anyway. Very sad for people in the catchment areas of Doncaster, Sheffield, and Rotherham who will now have no regional airport and be forced to use East Midlands (the next best of the bunch in my opinion), the dreaded Manchester, or Leeds Bradford.

Following on from Zach's post, I gather the procedure for porting over your existing number is now easier than ever in that you no longer have to speak to your current provider with all the possibilities for begging you to stay that this involves. I got the info below from a Google search and I know it works as I have used it myself and the required code came back like lightning. Good luck.
Getting a PAC code from your network is easy. As of July 2019, all you have to do – no matter what network you're requesting the code from – is text 'PAC' to 65075, using the number that you want to keep.

I've used Martin Kemp on Abbeydale Road for years and found them totally professional and non pushy. Maybe not as cheap as the heavily advertised national companies, but like anything you usually get what you pay for.
