  1. Hi all, Ginger female cat been missing since 05/10/16 around the Archer Road, Millhouses area. Goes by the name of Mollie and is quite timid, wearing a zig-zag pattern collar with small bell on it. She is 10 years old, has half of one front tooth missing and is micro-chipped. She may have got into a shed/outhouse, never usually goes further than immediate neighbours gardens so is quite out of character for her. If anyone comes across her please contact as she is dearly missed. Thanks.
  2. Hi Also looking for recommendations for a reliable, experienced and reasonably priced plasterer to obtain quote for skimming walls/ artexed ceiling of a small double bedroom and the artexed ceiling of a large double bedroom. Looking to begin work in the next 3 to 4 weeks in s8 Thanks
  3. Yes it must be as my partner always comments how it seems to be the side that the rain hammers down on!! i just wasn't sure if it would be that as the damp comes under the sill but also seems to come up from the skirting as well although the skirting board itself isn't damp..
  4. Yes it is pvc bay window, and I'm pretty sure the house has and it is a typical bay window terrace built around 1900
  5. Hi We bought a house in October with no signs of damp. After a few months in the lounge after taking up carpet and redecorating we have had a continuing problem under the bay window sill on the right side. There is damp under the window sill and what looks like rising damp from the skirting board with patches random places on the wall in the middle. My partner has repointed areas outside that look like it could have been a problem and resealed under the outside window sill but the problem continues. Cannot see any sign of gutter leaking down the wall either. The cellar immediately below has an air vent. Any ideas of what else could be the problem and recommendations of people to come take a look and quote. Its only an isolated area so am reluctant to pay £125+ for a damp survey of the entire house Thanks in advance
  6. Hi Just a few recommendations from people we have used recently: NILEC electrical- andy did a great job and reasonable rates! 07967806043 another recommendation for mac plastering! We've use Chris for the second time and again happy with his work and price! 07849 946 223 Would happily use both again in the future!
  7. Can thoroughly recommend Chris @ MAC plastering 07849946223 if you are in need of a reliable, genuine and reasonably priced skilled plasterer. Skimmed two artexed ceilings for us in lounge and landing, very pleased with his work! We will be using him again when need the next two rooms doing and wall reboarded and plastered. Good price and tidied up any mess afterwards too. After a bad experience with another person off the forum we are very happy to have gone to Chris this time around
  8. Hi! I am going to attempt to make a cute dress for a friends little girl (2years) but after picking my material and looking at how to's online I think I definitely need a pattern to work from as I am very much a novice!! Any recommendations for the best place to get reasonably priced patterns in Sheffield, ideally in the hillsborough side of the city, or a place that stocks vintage pattern templates as I do like those kinds of styles! Thanks x
  9. Hi Looking at property to buy. Am considering a house on empire road..it reads 'nether edge' but it is the part between where the big posh houses stop and the empire road newsagent near wake road. I am unsure as to the area, I would probably say that is Abbeydale but I know a road can change from one end to another round there. It would be a family home and want it to be a nice safe place to live! Any opinions or experiences appreciated!
  10. If you shop around and use online places and end of line tile ranges it does not have to be £1000s..we just redid our small bathroom for under £1000 and I am very happy with it! Bathroom suite in a victoria plumb sale (£258 but not including a shower), end of line tiles from tiledirect off Queens Road (£70) and vinyl from http://www.onlinecarpets.co.uk- (£32) the same product as carpetright but half the price, they had just rebranded the original product!! We also had a plumber friend fit the suite and then my boyfriend laid the vinyl and made the boxing in for pipes and bath. It took a few weeks start to finish
  11. As above; very rude. Worst renting experience in my life...in addition to there horrible attitude throughout our lease from them, when we moved out they tried to take £240 off our bond to replace a washing machine. Bearing in mind the original washing machine which was about 20 yrs old and broken and when we rung to ask if we could have it removed to put our new one in and were told that isnt a problem as it isnt the landlords and was left 'out of courtesy' by previous tenants so to go ahead...make your own mind up but I would also strongly advise DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!
  12. I can second the above for a top quality decorator..did a feature wall with very busy wallpaper, matches up perfectly, quick tidy workman and even charged less than his original, already reasonable, quote as took less than anticipated. Will definitely use again
  13. hi we are looking to rent a scaffold tower in the next few weeks. can anyone give us a quote or reccommend anyone to get in touch with? thanks
  14. has anyone used this company based in s6? would u recommend them? thanks
  15. we are laying a patio so have dug down for the foundations and have lots of soil piled up now that we wont use!!
  16. hi We are clearing the garden at the moment and have a lot of top soil to dispose of. As it is getting late in the year would people still be interested in taking the top soil to make good use of? If not how much does waste removal cost approx? my garden is around 6x4m. skip hire seems pricey and my road is often very busy so could be difficult to get it positioned. thanks for any advice
  17. Hi Would like to highly recommend mmitchell decorator for any decorating needs (07976714323). Has just completed a wallpapered feature wall, did a great job, great communication and charged cheaper than original quote Very happy with his work and would highly recommend. Will use again in the future!
  18. Can someone confirm if bowshaw is actually on thissunday? Iv heard 8th april is next but just want to make sure before going to marsh lane. thanks
  19. Its only what I was told and then it says on the front page buyers and sellers £1 so I assumed it was right! If not Bowshaw were thinking Marsh Lane, as Twin Oaks is abit of a trek for us! Thanks for the info
  20. hi is Bowshaw car boot any good to sell at? I was considering marsh lane but Bowshaw is nearer and at £1 a pitch, not £9 wont eat into any profit I do make. Its my first car boot so not sure what to expect! Also any idea what people would expect to be asked for brand clothing items? e.g jeans and shoes Thanks!
  21. Hi I'm wondering of anyone has any kittens? Have had cats before and looking for a kitten to join our family! Thank you
  22. Hi, i have a floral wallpaer needing hanging in my bedroom. The wall is approx 4/5m width and has 2 doors within that space. Can I have an approximate cost please. thanks
  23. Hi, i have a biasi combi boiler (fitted 07 I think). Over the last few months the dhw supply to the bath in particular has been playing up. It runs hot, cold, hot, cold and having a bath is becoming a nightmare. It seems to work better when the tap is only half open but that solution is no longer working aswell either. a friend checked the pressure and that was low so that was increased. (the kitchen tap hot water doesnt seem to be effected only the bath tap) after looking about on some forums i think a poss cause may be the heat exchanger being plaqued up and needing a clean or replacement. I dont think it has been serviced since being fitted. can I have a rough idea of quotes for the above and also a service. thanks
  24. I was looking at a new build estate in cudworth. Will look at shafton too x
