Hi folks - I run the SYFN (South Yorkshire Filmmakers Network) and we are launching a new website soon where the 'forum' or news page is updated every week. The old MySpace forum, which is I think what is referred to below/above, we don't use anymore. Yes, Ares7, there is a paid membership scheme but we do things like networking events and you can post things on our News bulletin and stuff for free. We also run free events at the Showroom Cinema (and other places) for either free or cheapo entry prices (like £2/£3). Wish you weren't negative about us - we do try and help a lot of people, and we seem to be good at that...do give us a whirl - our next free networking event at which you can do all you suggest below is at the Rutland Arms on July 5th, the first Monday of each month (we might stop this temporarily in August and Sept, since Aug is dead and in Sept I'\m getting married!). Hi everyone in Sheffield. Don't know if you know about the SYFN, the South Yorkshire Filmmakers Network, but if you do not, check out our website - which I am not yet allowed to post here but you can find easily. I'd like to start a forum on here for filmmakers and media peeps so if people think that's a good idea please reply to this thread. I'd like to get chatting with people more often to gauge what you all want. A bit better. Thanks guys, Rob
