  7. I remember the broadway. Used to go in sometimes. Loved Tuesday nights at the Top Rank. I remember when it first opened. My mates used to go on Saturdays. I wasnt allowed as i had to go to my piano lessons. I was gutted.
  8. our house had a bathroom (bath and sink) but the toilet was outside across the yard. I always remember the dark winter nights. I was too scared to go on my own. either my sister had to come with me or my mam would stand on the kitchen doorstep and wait for me. oh and those massive spiders. I also remember having to go through the bathroom to get to the attic stairs. If anyone was in the bath and you wanted something from the attic, tough luck.
  9. i had 2 cars as my first car,both had my little touches to personalise them a 1972 mk1 escort ,blue, swa268l a 1962 smoke grey mini .814cwe,which i still have the remains of the mk 1 escort was fab,but let water in and the strut tiops eventually came thru replaced it with another mk1 1300e which i still have and still immaculate

  14. chinny roberts,,lol on my first day at jordanthorpe i got a x on my dinner ticket for having my hands on my pockets,,,wot a organhead,,ha ah sergeant was great,,,although he wouldnt let me do modular technology,the bugger,,made a good gate though,,never did use it i was the only one in metalwork 1983/4 to use the welder,i used the shed where they kept the old minibus to do it,,had lots of skive time to myself while the others had the lessons, he he mr mintoft and parker are dead i believe,,, wot happened to the agressive mr tracey and mr jimboy sellars ????? remember mr chambers and mr wilson chuckin blacboard rubbers at me remember mr wilson,in sixth form maths,had me by the collar threatening to give me detention for forgettin some bloody homework told him u cant give me detention,im here at my own accord im a sixth former,the whole class cheered! he was cool after that i know mr thomson,,sciences,was about in 1989 cos i repaired his ford sierra wehn i worked in a bodyshop at the time
  15. Me and my mate worked at Butlins Skegness in the 70s.She did 3 seasons 75,76 and 77. I worked there 75 to 79. Loved every minute of it. We were chalet maids(monsters) You had to take your work seriously but once you finished it was like being on holiday. Made loads of friends. Sadly it all came to an end. We both met our husbands there and we settled down. Weve both ended up divorcing them. Never mind were still best mates. Great memories of Butlins though.

I used to love doing them. Me and my sister Anne often talk about them when we are reminising.We often say what a great childhood we had. As you said,Happy days.

  19. No but thanks. I went to Grimesthorpe School in the 60s. His name will come to me eventually i hope. Thing is,a few of us were talking about school and his name was mentioned. Now none of us can remember it. Senile dementia setting in.
  20. I remember Mr Gathercole. Id forgotten about him throwing the blackboard rubber. Good old Barbera throwing it back at him. I just wish I could remember that teachers name. I remember him having a jar of liquorice torpedoes in the cupboard. If you were really good you got a boiled sweet.
