On behalf of Terry Green Another old Grimesthorpian.Alan Green of Wansfell Road (posting on here as Almac) sadly passed away ,suddenly but peacefully at home on September 17th.His funeral will be held at Chesterfield Crematorium on Thursday October 4th @2.30p.m. Any one who knew him and wishes too attend will be most welcome.Family flowers only. I cant believe I've only just found this thread. I started work with Henry Pooley, part of the W&T Avery group, in 1960 and left in 1974. I remember Keith Eyre and the others mentioned. Pooleys was based on Eyre Street at the time and later moved to Lambert Street at West Bar. They were happy times.

Sorry to report another Grimethorpian loss. John Harrison from Moss st and Hunsley st died last Tuesday 27th March after a short illness. I will post details of funeral when a date is fixed.

I have to tell you about Christine Watkinson who passed away , aged 67 , on 16th December. She was at Owler Lane Sec Mod until 1963. Funeral is to be held at Grenoside Crematorium , on 30th Dec at 3-15pm. R.I.P.

Where can I get rid of a gas cylinder? I have a part filled BUTANE 13.5 Kg gas cylinder with gas valve. I don't know how much gas there is in it . Does anyone know where I can get rid of it?

I lived on Margate Drive in the prefabs. I was in the same class as Mick Martin. I remember the name Brian Goldthorpe. I think he may have had two brothers but not sure. Was his name Goldthorpe or was it Gawthorpe? Did he live at the top of the hill on Grimesthorpe Rd, on the left hand side facing down the hill?

Mick Martin was the eldest of three brothers, Anthony was next and Kevin was the youngest.

Can anyone tell me the name of the Chinese restaurant that was just behind Cole Brothers? I think it was on Crossburgess street. You had to go up stairs to the restaurant. I had many a good meal in there.

Check out Wigfield Farm at Worsbrough. They put on a very good day for my nieces son a couple of years ago. Lots of animals to see and a lunch for the kids and not too costly
