  1. depends what goes into it at mo, ide usually grey sata usually red but both can be different colours, how old is pc?
  2. i had this problem on my sons Xp pc and couldnt solve it, mem test came back with nothing but everytime turned PC on it BSODed. tried clean install of XP etc couldnt fix it, told him he would just have to live with it Since upgrading to Vista, not had any problems whatsover.

  7. flat ended screw driver to un clip it then plug cable from the fan into the motherboard wher the old one came out of, make sure u dont touch the grey stuff on bottom of new one after you take the protective cover off, and make sure its sits on top of processor securely, dont use the pc until you have replaced it, cos that will cause damage to processor, hope i am not stating the obvious there sorry if so.

  10. thats a "socket A" processor, ebuyer quick link 86519 (a whole 3.60 plus p&p) should do the job, or pc world do one as well if you want to pay 4 times as much but pick it up tomorrow
  11. there was a survey done 6 month or so ago by 5th gear other channel alternative of top gear. it said that out of the top 5 fuel additives 3 actually reduce the performance the other 2 do nothing except work as placebos (you think that they are working so they are).

  14. your cap is the amount of downloads you can make in a month and an average film is 700 mb so would get 50 odd films in a month for that amount of usage more than one per day. what connection speed are you getting? I would expect a film to take about 12 hours to download give us more info on your problem please

  16. depends on version of vista and spec of pc, i really like vista but got reasonable amount of ram and a dual core processor

  22. My "incorrect post" admittedly was badly worded but still unfortunately correct. Your claim is under the sale of goods act and not the consumer credit act (which would apply if you bought it on finance or with a credit card) and yes a contract does say should provide "value for money" or "last a reasonable time", and as such you should have a very good case if it comes to small claims to get a refund, as the contract the buyer enters into with the seller (pcworld) guarantees this. However as i put in my earlier post it isnt you that has the contract because you arent the buyer from PC World Sale of goods act 1979 section 2 contract of sale "A contract of sale of goods is a contract by which the seller transfers or agrees to transfer the property in goods to the buyer for a money consideration, called the price." Therefore your contract is with the person you paid the money to. You could have a stab at writing a letter to dixons head office send it by recorded delivery giving them 21 days to respond, i wouldnt waste my time on call centres though.
