For me itâs just the framing of peopleâs normal reaction to difficult circumstances and hard lives as being âill â Tell people theyâre âill â and theyâll look for a solution in tablets or some sort of therapy.

Iâd happily live without a car. Helps having an old codgers free bus and tram pass plus reductions by train travel

If I outlive our lass then my autumn years will be watching football up and down the country, at whatever level. Went to Penistone Church fc last night for a semi final match between Treeton Fc and Mosbrough Yellows. Felt like top of the Pennines đ

A great fans favourite at QPR. Theyâve had some good uns over the years , eg Stan, Rodney Marsh, TC. Itâs a club that for some reasonâs been left well behind by other clubs around it. Strange really. I went there end of 2022 to their match v PNE. Great game, brilliant atmosphere. RIP Stan Bowles

If people are saying that protesters are paid they would be better asking who pays for the Campaign Against Antisemitism, and the Community Security Trust ?

I was on the kop for that fixture with thousands of Blades. Game was drawn. Didnât we sing about « Ritchie the bush kangaroo » as well. Game was at Easter I think. To be honest I think Ritchie scored the winner for them at our place đ earlier in the season -

Why are some houses called « Hall »âs ? Whatâs the definition ? -
Fascinating topic this. My OH always has a go at me about drinking. I very rarely go above 2 pints of average strength beer and thatâs on three nights each week. I never touch spirits or similar, a bottle of wine maybe at Xmas. The only time I go over 2 pints is when I go to the match, and then that might be 5 pints spread over the whole day and once per fortnight. The documentary Adrian Chiles did for the BBC was interesting. He drinks huge amounts weekly and doesnât even realise it .

Active Travel: How Much Is Too Much?
Ridgewalk replied to SheffieldForum's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Iâm a regular Public Transport user, tram, train, bus. I also drive. Given the choice I always prefer to leave the vehicle at home, itâs less stressful. I use the Middlewood park and ride when trains are on strike. Trains from Barnsley via Elsecar, Chapeltown are very unreliable. The train companies seem to prefer cancelling trains, to users inconvenience and packing us like sardines to ensure sufficient numbers of drivers and staff, presumably to avoid training them or paying a wage. The all public transport is in public ownership the better -
