  1. Hi SF, just after a bit of advice. Im living in a rented house and im wanting a cat flap. Is it as easy as it sounds to remove the current external door, buy a second hand one to use while im there and put the original door back on when i leave? I dont know how the lock part of it works, will it need a whole new surround? Any help or advice appreciated.
  2. Please could any mobile hairdressers with availablility in S8 one evening this week please PM me? Just a dry trim/tidy up required.
  3. Thank you so much to everyone that replied, i'll do some ringing round.
  4. Hi Sheffield Forum, My Mums LCD TV stopped working last week and she opted to buy a new one rather than repair it - and since its SO much bigger/better/nicer than my own, i've taken it off her hands to try and get it repaired! Can anyone recommend or suggest a place that may be able to fix it? I've Googled, as you do, but the places it suggests are national companies and i cant even get through to the numbers. The problem with the TV is that when you plug it in, the standy light comes on, but when you try to put it on it just goes off completely. So theres obviously power getting to it somehow.. it just doesnt want to come on! Its a 40" LG. Any help or advice appreciated.
  5. Oh you actually live on the road? Well thats a positive reply.. thanks
  6. Yeah, its a private rent. For the same money in 'better' areas you get hardly anything but this is a newly refurbed 4 bed. We'll go and see it anyway, and see what kind of vibe we pick up about the place...
  7. Oh dear. Thas 2 very different opinions.
  8. Thank you very much. Its really hard moving somewhere you dont know at all! You've been a great help.
  9. Haha! He sounds like a charming fellow.
  10. Hi Forum, Does anyone live on or near Fraser Road in Woodseats? Im going to look at a house later. Im not from the area and wondered if theres any horror stories I need to know or if it'll be an OK place to live. Any opinion appreciated. x
  11. Yeah, I reported it before I even drove away. Ive never heard of this happen before.
  12. Ive just been parked up in Norton for no longer than 15 minutes and when ive got back to my car, someone had took the front and back plates! Unbelievable! I was on Cloonmore Drive, just off Norton Road, so beware if you live there!
  13. Thanks Turbo and Katy. Yeah we contacted the current lender and without myself on it, they will only finance him up to 85K. Theres £117k balance. And no, unfortunately he isnt with anyone else. We did consider selling at a lower price but it would be such a struggle to pay in effect, a loan for the difference, on top of our existing outgoings too.Im only just managing living on my own as it is. There must be other people who've had the same problem, I just wondered if there was anything at all we could do...
  14. I have a 1.5 diesel Clio and its brilliant. more than 65 mpg. i travel to Buxton and back every day for work and I did a lot of research on what would be most economical. Its also only £35 per YEAR road tax.
  15. Good morning SF. Im in a bit of a pickle and was wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation that can advise me what to do or anyone I can get in touch with to help. 5 years ago I bought a flat with my fiancé. It was a new build, and at the time to keep costs low until we got on our feet a bit we took the mortgage ‘interest only’ with a view to changing it to repayment after a year when the fixed period was over. Very soon after we moved in, the relationship broke down and I moved out. The situation is that 4 years on, he has been keeping the mortgage payments and bill payments up, and we are still very amicable. I no longer want my name on the mortgage, obviously, but he cannot get a mortgage on his income alone (although hes not struggling AT ALL keeping the payments up, which seems ridiculous, but). If we put the flat on the market we wouldn't get even close to what we paid for it, so that's not really an option either. And because we're 'interest only' the balance isnt reducing so we cant even just sit it out. Like I said, we’re very amicable and id really hate having to get solicitors etc involved, I'm just looking for a solution that could suit us both. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. x
