  1. I ask you Sheffield, if Birmingham or Manchester jumped of a cliff would you follow?. If we really wanted to impress the country all we have to do is build a giant roller coaster running in and around park hill. Stick that one in your millenium eye london!.
  2. Guess if they knew that much about computers they wouldn't be working in PC World would they. Thats a big generalisation from me though, I've worked with loads of people who were massively over qualified for the kind of work they do so I try not to judge. If PC World, Dixons and the lot are so awful how come they've got so many shops then?. Surely if they're so naff then nobody would buy from them twice. Had some good service from both Currys and Pc World
  3. Many years ago the government decided I should go on a training for work scheme, spent 9 months working at Virgin Megastore for about £45 per week. Looking back on it I often think how exploited I was, obviously I'm wrong. Being exploited doesn't involve working a 37.5 hour week at about £1.20 per hour. Instead it involves paying £20 for 6 minutes worth of a hot woman dancing on my lap. Tragic. Maybe when we hear about all those folks in far east Nike sweat shops being exploited, they're actually talking about gettin busy with the geisha!. No wonder those trainers cost so much.
  4. Any smart man who walks into a lap dancin club will realise that he's little more than a £20 note sat having a drink, if he's nice to talk too and doesn't try to feel up the ladies then he's also probably a bit of job satisfaction rolled in. Personally, I've got zero problem with that. Ya see baboowhateveryournameis, it's the girls and the club that are taking advantage of the poor deluded, intoxicated guys and not the other way round. Either some of the girls working at rhino's are the best actresses I've ever met, or they enjoy their work. Why can't you accept that some women are just different and find working as a lap dancer exciting. Everyone's got their kick (even you no doubt), just cos you'd feel used, it doesn't mean they do. Guys and girls are different, accept it.
  5. Think I saw a bat shaped flyer that said halloween was being celebrated on the friday and saturday. The boys wearing makeup aren't really boys, they're just the girls who follow the hugely unflattering fashion of wearing a pair of skanky y-fronts with their carpenters halfway down their butt. Come back Doro Pesch....all is forgiven!!!!
  6. Twas a little ...erm....slow on monday. Had more people than the tut tho.
  7. If you don't mind spending a bit, these guys can help with the Neo coat. http://www.duendecouture.com
  8. Isn't a bit of a cheek from a place to expect you (and they do) to tip the who keeps the toilets a bit cleaner, when you've already paid to get in......as well as the profit they're making from all the drinks we're buying?.
  9. Erm, maybe none of those looking were going so didn't want to spam the thread with lots of 'no' reply's. Just a thought
  10. I've recently spent the night in Chester (next to wales) where I went out into their town centre for the evening. Walking around the place I was pleasantly surprised, there are so many buildings and shop fronts that were very old and most likely listed because of it. Now Sheffield is never going to have the kind of history that a place like chester or york has. I couldn't help thinking though, sheffield seems so keen on the 'out with the old, in with the new'. Sometimes I don't think this is a bad thing but sometimes I don't think it's a good thing. I like the idea of a place where you can see and almost feel the history. So my questions are, does sheffield hate it's old buildings?. Is it in such a rush to be modern that the old has to go at any cost?. I think thats the kind of thinking that got us the eggbox and park hill.
  11. I wasn't aware that revolt was on anymore, last time I looked on the hallam website it wasn't listed anywhere. We used to like revolt . I have to say that I thought Fuzz club was the worst night I have ever been to anywhere. Such a large indie crowd means there are loads of idiots who've seen too many Slipknot videos but don't have any respect for the people that enjoy the music. It's the only time i've ever seen a girl being carried of the dance floor pish'ing blood from her nose cos some guy hit her......and personally I never want to see it again. Oh yeah and the playlist kinda sucked as it had to take into account the increased softage of the audience's musical tastes.
  12. If you walk into a car dealership and "I don't know much about cars but I want one", do you really expect them to point you to the cheapest one first?. Of course PCW are going to try to sell you as much as they can, it's their job. If you haven't put the effort into investigating it then more fool you. It's in a companies interest to sell you something you're happy with, if you're not happy with the price then they can offer you something cheaper. If you're not happy with the result when you get it home then it's a pain for everyone getting it sorted. At least if they offered you a better (but higher priced) option it's the customers fault and not the stores. PCW once changed a graphics card because I walked in and explained that the one I had bought didn't live up to my expectations (it really sucked!) and that I'd be happy to buy a more expensive one if they took this one back. What is it about extended warranties that makes people so clumsy on stairs with their computers anyway?. Still I think it makes people with 42" Plasma Tv's happy when they fall off the wall .
  13. Tournament rules for uk (for the ones I know of anyway) max out at 300fps or less which is plenty enough!!. I certainly wouldn't want to be hit by anything more. Also to remember if importing is that full auto (keep trigger pressed and marker continues to fire) is a no no in this country.
  14. I doubt there's anywhere that has or will play death metal in any quantity in sheffield. Sadly it tends to clear dance floors faster than cyanide. Stepping on to the nu metal thingy, I noticed they played Linkin park in res rocks room at corp last saturday. Never seen some people move to the dance floor so fast (some even left their zimmer frames behind in the rush!!) Damn strangest thing I ever saw.
  15. Demolishing what seems to be a perfectly good (and very interesting) fire brigade HQ, just to rebuild it somewhere else?. Now thats the kind of pathetic waste of money I've come to expect from the succesive idiots in the council !!. Hope the firemen have got somthing to say about it, that's their pay rise right there!!
