  1. Just wanted to say thanks to you all for your advise and give a little update. So the owner wanted rid sooner than originally planned so he came to us a couple of days ago. Whilst im no expert he looks in great condition and the home he came from had looked after him really well. Although a little nervous the first night he's settled in a treat. Loves being handled and is a real little character. We had already planned to get him a friend after reccomendations that piggies prefer a friend so went to Pets @ home yesterday to get him a new bowl and pigloo. However we ended up looking at the adoption piggies and whilst I would never usually buy from a pet shop there was a 16 week old boar that just looked so lost and lonely. We enquired about him and im not sure if its normal practice but i was really shocked by their practices that I felt it was probably in his interest to come to our loving home than stay there. So now we have 2 Made sure I read as much as I could about introducing them and they seam to be ok together. Little bit of sniffing around and bum wiggling not to mention the odd dry hump but no fighting thankfully. I'm just making sure we're keeping an eye on them. I have to say I can see them becoming very addictive. Im already planning a bigger hutch to accomodate a few more in the future.
  2. Thankyou all for your help. Should I let him get used to living with us for a couple of weeks or so before I introduce a friend? Also could I ask whats the best bedding to use? I'm a bit confused whether he needs straw, hay or sawdust. I was also reading that piggies need vitamin c and was wondering if you give your piggies a seperate suplement (if so which one) or if you just make sure they have plenty of vitamin c rich food. Thanks
  3. Hi, I hope you dont mind me joining in but i'm looking for some advise on guinea pigs. A friend of a friend has got fed up of her little boy piggy and has asked if we would like to adopt it. We're more than happy to take it but having never had one before I want to make sure we look after it correctly. Ive been reading the thread about what food to give/not to give which has been really helpful and ive ordered the guineapiglopedia book. Is there anything we need to look for when we pick it up at the weekend? Is there any 'danger' signs to look for if its ill or anything? Whats the best way to settle it in? Also i've read that piggies like to be with other piggies should we get a friend for him? Thanks
  4. I have for sale an assortment of malawi cichlids. I have decided to set up a marine tank so they have to go. All range between 2" and 3" long with no health problems. There are 15 in total! Included amongst them are 3 x yellow labs and 3 x nimbochromis livingstonii. Im afraid I not 100% sure of the names of the others. Willing to accept £20 o.n.o for all of them. Buyer to collect only please
