I agree about the long queues at the staffed checkouts which suggests that customers would rather wait to be served rather than use self service. I have only once got through self service tills without a problem. I refuse to use them now.

Does anyone know if it's true that they're going to start charging to park in the car park behind McColls in Woodhouse village? I've also heard they're installing barriers? Parking is difficult anyway this will make it impossible. If it's true it will be the death of the village shops. I use the shops regularly especially the butchers, greengrocers, chemist and bank because I believe in supporting local businesses, but not at any price. Who is responsible for this? Is it McColls? There are 2 Asda's, 2 Aldi's, Morrisons and Lidl's all with large free car parks within a short distance so guess where motorist will go? Is this a ploy to drive (Pardon the pun) us into the arms of the big supermarkets?

Don't panic there's no need to worry, the Executives, Senior Managers, Councillors, Union Officals, Diversity Officers, Foreign Scroungers and those who refuse to pay council tax and rent and expect everything free will all be protected from the nasty Tory cuts. Went to Hillsborough park on Sunday the weather was lovely but it rained heavily on Saturday so it was like a quagmire, nobody's fault so no complaints about that. There was a funfair, great I like a funfair, plenty of food places, very few stalls though. No displays by the military and emergency services or others. It was a bit disappointing
