  1. Rotherham's big free bonfire and fireworks display takes place again this year at Clifton Park on Sunday 3rd November. Funfair opens at 5.30, bonfire lit 6.30, kids display 7pm, main fireworks 7.45. Presented by Friends of Clifton Park and sponsored by Farrar's Fun Fairs and Ron Hull Ltd.
  2. Sheffield Hospital Radio always need volunteers for various roles. Visiting wards to collect requests, studio work, presenters etc. See Hospital Broadcasting Sheffield website for details of how to get involved if interested.
  3. Committee people i remember the late Mick Ellis and there was a Ken Bell.
  4. Apart from rides in Town next weekend for Fright Night & half term and then rides will be at various bonfire events, fairs in this area have now finished until next year. On at the moment nearest to Sheffield are Hull, Worksop and Ilkeston.
  5. Hope the firework display is better this year.
  6. John Lewis are at Barkers Pool, not Wellington st, although it is just a stone throw way.
  7. The Greyhound was boarded up for ages but has had a lot of work done recently,looks nice, new windows etc, but not sure if it is still going to be a pub.
  8. Farrar's Funfair are at Bowshaw Roundabout from Sept. 25 -28. Open daily from 6pm, 1.30 Sat. All big rides except dodgems and Freak out.£1.50 Kids rides £1.
  9. Was at a wedding reception last night where Roger the Badger performed. They were fantastic, got 95% of the guest's up dancing.
  10. Fright night has not been cancelled and will take place on Sunday 27th October organised again by the Yellow Bus Company with a big input from William Percival of Farrar's Funfair's who organises all the rides.
  11. The Bridge Inn at Ford, Ridgeway S12 3YD are holding their annual fun day on Saturday September 28th from 1pm to 5pm. All proceeds to Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice ( last year around £800 was raised). Attractions include Tombola, Bric a Brac stall, Cakes, Hook a Duck, Raffle, DJ, Dance Troupe, Martial Arts display and more.
  12. There some kind of car show at Wentworth House on Sunday, also classic cars at Ecclesfield gala on Sunday.
  13. Greenwoods who have shops at Rotherham and Chesterfield sell them, I bought one a couple of weeks ago in their half price sale for around £18, good quality as well. They also have a website.
  14. used to call and buy mint and aniseed rock, it was still warm sometimes, the building is still there, but no mint rock these days.
  15. It was advertised in the Star, there were flyers in local shops and in Town, I got one from John Lewis.
  16. Roulette in the alley way off High st. used to be K & D as well in the Hole in the road.
  17. The Ridgeway Arms at Mosborough has a large car park although it slopes and has hosted car shows / charity events on it in the past, so it may be worth enquiring there. Also The Bridge Inn at Ford had hosted car and bike shows in the past but unfortunally the car park is only small.
  18. How many cars do you have in mind, as I know a couple of places depending on numbers.
