  1. Thanks for letting me know. That is one of the councils ringfenced estates for Park Hill residents who have demolition priority. Sounds like one is likely get demolished if living there!
  2. Has any one got any info/ oppinions about the following area,s? Low Edges, Batemoor, Jordanthorp and the Dyche Road area what ever thats called? Eg are they right on bus routes and decent/ safe area,s for older people? How about Old Greenhill and Chancet wood? I know people living at Meadowhead and also want some where safe and decent to live. Now I,m looking I havnt seen any more property around where I wanted in the area of the Painted Fabrics. I,m on holliday now but hope for more luck later.
  3. Just change your Bank account so they can,t pay it to you? I know of a woman who went to give her social security up they tried to get her to give them info on her new partners income. She just put her soc. book om the counter, told them it wasn,t there business and left the office. You sure here some stange stuff.
  4. Thanks for the tip. Well its going to be interesting because I want live around Meadowhead and thats what I,ll be bidding for. (When properties are available in that area) In October the Housing Officer told me I didn,t have to be out untill summer 2005 at the very latest but today I got the idea they,d like every one out pretty quick, when the housing consultant who mailed my Registration Number kindly offerd to put in a bid for me, if I see a property before my Pin Number arrives? They can evict tenants who refuse to move out but I hope that doesn,t apply to tenants like me who don,t want to live in areas of the councils choise (ringfenced for priority) but in an area of one,s own choosing? Well it may have been helpfullness but it made me uncomfortable as I was also invited to discuss 'the sittuation'. Of course I declined as 'the sittuation' had already been explained in full when the Housing Officer visited me. 17 years ago I was homeles with a baby and had the good luck to get a house the very same day I went to the council and the same happened last time when I moved to Park Hill. I could hardly believe it myself but I was in the right place at the right time, for once.
  5. Yipee, after senting 8 emails and writing one letter I finally got my Housing Registration Number and the Pin will follow. Only problem is I quite often can,t even acces the Propertyshop site, any one else have problems with this? Does any one know if they,ll sent a property paper to your adress every week?
  6. Hi, Any one know the procedure when the council require tenants to move due to reovation plans, ie Park Hill and one hasn,t been able to find a house under thhis new bidding system? Last year every one from there was given 40 ponits which this year don,t count from what I gather. Well I still havn,t even got my Reistration number after fillng in 2 forms. Sheffield Property Shop reckon I,m not registerd and kindly sent me a 3rd form. The First Point Information site say they can,t give me my Registration Number online and to either go ther or to Park Hill Housing and ask for it or to ask for it in writing. (Ye right then they can lose the letter as well as both of my forms) Well I,m not planning on running around after the Registration number any more. I feel like just giving the Head of Housing the replies to my enquiry when they want me to move and he or she can run around after. I,m not in a hurry anyway.
  7. Meadowhead, I,ve got family living there. Its really nice and quiet, local shops (big supermarkets not far away), park and busses etc
  8. If Firshill is near Firvale/Page Hall ( areas which have really gone down hill over the years), then its not such a nice surrouding area but look it up before you take my word for it as I,m not 100% sure.
  9. I was curious, to know how high a rent the benefits will pay, is there a limit?
  10. Yes, its possible. Could also be plain old incompetence or laziness. ( if its not in the computer getting up and walking over to the filing cabinet might be considerd a strain by some) That mail I got from First Points senior customer service adviser informing me she couldn,t give me my housing registration number due to the data protection act, had at the very least an arrogant tone. If the sheffield property shop can give the dam number then so can any one who chooses to. where theres a will theres a way! If there is innitiative any where in there.
  11. That was good info. I,ve just mailed them again, told them of your experience and asked the person to ask his supervisor to look in the files as thers not much point filling in a 3rd form when the first 2 havn,t been processed within almost a year and 8 months respectively. May be they are delaying but I can,t think why?
  12. Hi, I wonderd if any one had similar experience to me with reguard tothe Housing registration. I filled in a Housing Registration form at Howden House in July and then again in October with a Housing officer at my Park Hill flat (as I hadn,t recieved my registration number from the first form). Well I still haven,t recieved it so I asked for it via email at the First Point center and was told they couldn,t send it beacause of the new privacy law or what ever. I sent a mail the sheffield property shop who could look it up for me with my full name and DOB but on doing so found I am not even registerd so I need to fill a housing registration form? I live on Long Henry Row where tenants are supposed to be rehousing due to the renovation plans of Park Hill and there is a flat to rent on Long Henry by the sheffield property shop. Any one have a clue whats going on?
