You won't baffle or bore anyone love! Sounds like the perfect solution! Lots of people have a 2 stage or 3 stage event, i.e. immediate friends and family for the legal/formal bit (registrar in your case); close friends and family for the early stages of the reception/party/meal (or in your case, the humanist ceremony); then work mates etc. for the last bit/disco etc. To make it clear to your guests all you need to do is word their invites differently -If it is of interest to you, and if you haven't already ordered your invitations -I can certainly help. Hello, I think I can help here -If you can get the actual chocolates/rock then I can supply and personalise the packaging/labels to coordinate with the rest of your wedding stationery.
