  1. Quite possible... To be honest I think the council should pay the drivers for using the roads as compensation for putting up with the terrible roads.
  2. The Romans built roads that have lasted thousands of years, Sheffield City Council repair a road that fails after 2 weeks... Hail Caesar!! That's what I say! I noticed on some of the streets around Ecclesall Road - that have pot holes that big they are down to the hundred year old cobbles underneath - that when painting the new lines for the parking scheme, they painted straight into the pot holes and over the cobbles instead of attempting to resurface. Why do Sheffield voters and tax payers put up with this?
  3. Traffic congestion. Average speed 20mph between J29 (junction with A617) and J31 Sheffield South (junction with A57) in Northbound direction. M1 Accident(s) earlier at J32 Rotherham (junction with M eighteen) in Northbound direction. M1 Traffic congestion. Average speed 30mph between J33 Rotherham South (junction with A630) and J31 Sheffield South (junction with A57) in Southbound direction. Maybe one of these
  4. If this forum had sound, you'd hear me clapping right now! Excellent post
  5. Thank you I'm glad it's all stable now, just hope that the rains tomorrow don't affect the recovery too much!
  6. I'm not familiar with the rivers that are around the reservoir, if it were to burst would it surge into the Don & Rother causing more chaos in Sheffield and in Rotherham centre? I hope to god it doesn't break...
  7. I think (and hope) that it will be fine, it's been about 8 hours and they've got loads of people working on it.
  8. Porter Brook through Endcliffe Park is bigger than the Don at the minute!!!
  9. Up to Hunters Bar roundabout Eccy road is ok, not sure about Brocco bank.
  10. Just had a very wet drive... For those who travel through Baslow, forget it! The hill going up (As you turn left at the roundabout) was a 6inch river all the way up about an hour ago so may not be passable now. Same for the road going into Totley which is now blocked and as you go through Whirlow in th 40mph bit it was flooded there quite bad with one car abandoned.
  11. It's not fashionable... Saw loads this morning taking the missus to work. Quite bad round Handsworth/Fence, a grate had been blown off from all the water and was sticking up in the middle of the road (More of a lake really!) until a kind hearted person strolled into the lake and put it back in again. Well done that man!
