  1. Hello. I have no download limit, and I think my monthly downloads are around 50-100gb. My connection speed is (the last time I looked) about ... in fact, Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,390 / 18,685 Straight from the router, and I see no less than 95% of that sync. ISP Bethere.co.uk
  2. LOL BitTorrent used to download software and files you dont want to pay for.
  3. I can imagine its very cheap over there, where the large media corporations don't skim loads off the buyers. I pay £17.99/mth for 24mg down and 1.3mg up.
  4. Hi over there in OZ, What speed are you paying for to get the 1.6m ? 1.6km is quite a hike from the exchange matey, I'm around 400 yards and get 16-18mb down (paying for 24mb). The quality of the cable does pay a pretty big factor in ADSL through-put, and I see a lot of speed issues when ADSL subsbribers have attempted installing their own cables and sockets. Telecoms work rife in Australia ?
  5. I got a decent PC from Curry's, an ADVENT for 399. Normal warranties. Duo 1.6, 160HD, 1gb, 19" Windscreen monitor. Came with Vista though, soon chucked that for XP. I wouldn't bother with XP on anything slower than 2ghz, 512mb and a HD bigger than 40gb.
  6. LOL I have 3 kids, twins at 14 and one at 11. They are perfectly well behaved kids when on their own, with my partner and me, and erm, yeah even in pairs (in any order) it's when all 3 are together they act like bulls with wasps up their butts lol.. especially in public. They all do very well in school with one twin being awarded at Ponds Forge for exemplary work in her SATS in yr 6 for achieving the highest levels. HOWEVER, when they kick off they kick off big time. Grounding has become a whole new ball game. They spend time out with their mates and also a lot of time on their PC's and Egg-Boxes. Grounding isn't easy. Do you ground them by telling them to get off their Egg-Boxes and play out, or to come in and Play on their Egg-Boxes? We sure refrain from sitting them in the same room whilst we're chilling out, as this usually ends up in the usual rolling around the room or arguing. Keeps us happy though, well, alive anyways. Wouldn't swap them for anything in the world (maybe that large TV someone mentioned earlier mind) lol.
  7. Hello All ADSL Cabling Efficiency I'm interested in any information people can provide as to what degree good quality cabling and networking effects your ADSL/CABLE-MODEM speeds. A past solution for somebody I dealt with, 4 phone extensions hard wired, ADSL Router @ 24mb (on a 3rd extension). Removed all extensions and opted for wireless phones and moved ADSL Router and the Master Socket into Attic, and added a NT2000 faceplate. This took the speed from 8mb downstream to 16.9mb downstream, and sync to 22mb (previously 15.5mb). Speed increase from 653k upstream to 1.1mb, sync 1.3mb. Hopper Cable to attic is BELKIN 12-core Foiled, Braded & Stranded.
  8. For all the time it's taking, just buy another card if this one is somehow corrupted, for a few quid. Buying a 1gb SD card is not much more than buying a few blank CD's. Last 2gb I bought cost £7. Before you consider buying a BIG card though make sure your camera can handle it. (Just checked, 1gb SD's £3.99 ). At this price you can have a few spares so if it happens again ditch it for another. In future it's sometimes best to use your camera for deleting and formatting rather than a PC.
  9. Hmm I'd re-install my PC from scratch, whipe the partitions everything...
  10. Looks like sites from the mid 90's. Then again, mines very basic, but to say I'd never tried one before ....... for a 1st try it works.
  11. Think you would have to re-render the file, then the software you're using should give you the option.
  12. I found, Vista works with about 10% of my existing software, so went and upgraded to XP

  15. Sometimes it's an idea to have a go yourself, I've laminated around 80% of my house with no previous experience, all I did was make sure everyone was out of the house for the day and 'took my time'. From what I've seen of other so called professionals handiwork my effort looks though I've been at it donkeys. Really is easy you know, did you enjoy LEGO as a nipper? Bit of an Edit, I also bought one of those diamond tile cutters, about £70 but the finish I can get from the thing is fantastic. When I'm on my own calls I'll compare finishes with my work. I think I must just be Arty-Farty lol
  16. The Sitewell Arms in Renishaw, somewhere to put the noggin down too!
  17. I'm on and off with eggs, depends how they're made. Fried eggs have to be very well done and noooo sliminess ( I an manage scrambled now and again but not microwave scrambled. Hard boiled 50/50 I can make myself half a dozen and after 3 I'm ready to heave. Offensively bad cheese ARGHHH!!!!
