I am soon reaching my 60th birthday. South Yorkshire Pension authority have sent me several offers for my retirement pension, which I can claim any time from when I reach 60 or defer them for further two years. There isn't much difference between the amounts that are offer whether I claim now or defer them for two years. All the offers include a lump sum ranging from £5,500 with a annual pension of £1,600. I have a choice of increasing the lump sum to any figure up to just over £8,000 with an reduced annual pension of £1,300 accordingly.
I am currently on employment support allowance (ESA) and don't really know which option to take and more IMPORTANTLY how it would affect my current entitlement to benefits I am receiving. I am married person and my wife is receives DLA higher component for mobility and lower for care. Help and advise will be much appreciated.
