  1. Thanks very much for this great feedback. The offer just to clarify is £20 for an hours massage or physio session in March. Bodyflo is at Hawksley Avenue. S6 2BD. Thanks again
  2. Many thanks SWFCLee! I think we owe you a discount I know I am a little out of time for this enquiry but it was nice to see a recommendation for our clinic. We do have a website - http://www.sheffieldtherapycentre.co.uk Hope you got your treatment and are back on track OP.

  4. Hello footy fans. Just wanted to let you know about a charity football match we are arranging for Sunday 27/2/11 at Gosforth Fields, Dronfield - 2pm kick off. It is in aid of Help for Heroes and the teams will consist of ex-Donny Rovers youth team players vs 4th regiment LAD (current serving soldiers). If anyone knows an experienced referee or referee's assistant that would be willing to volunteer to officiate the game, please get in touch. We'll throw a free sports massage in for their help if anyone does come forward. If you can help in any other way, please do get in touch whether it be printing programmes/banners or anything else you can think of please let us know. Full details can be found on our facebook events page http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Sheffield-Therapy-Centre-Sports-Injury-Clinic/123246551026471 Further information on the background to the game can also be found by visiting the founder, organiser & skipper of the Donny Rovers Senior Juniors side via www.markroesportsphysio.co.uk Thank you so much to Gosforth Fields for donating the pitch, Dennis Hobson Promotions for sponsoring the kit, Sports Direct for balls, bibs, equipment etc, Toga Sports for a great kit, Lee "Chico" Chesters and all of the team members and family for donating a great amount so far via https://www.bmycharity.com/markroesportsphysioh4hfootball Would be good to see you cheer on the lads for a great cause - can't guarantee Brazilianesque football skills but I can guarantee heart and commitment to a brilliant cause, IMO. If you can't attend, we're selling wristbands in clinic this week for a suggested donation of £2. If you are passing through Gleadless, please buy one if you would like to support the charity. Alternatively, a few pennies via the above link would go down a treat too. Well done Mark for his work so far on this. 5. Happy New Year - hope you're all doing well with this NY's resolutions. Day 2 for me, started a couple of days late due to it falling on a weekend and I'm allowed to be naughty at the weekend - thems the rules! All is going well - not one single chocolate has passed my lips AND I have been on the exercise bike and have been swimming. I'm not going to win any awards for the length of time on the bike or distance travelled, but its a start!!!!!!!!:hihi: Anyway, due to my new found health kick, I thought I'd share some free information for anyone else who is in "the zone" of fitness to help you prevent injuries and pain. Check out this link http://www.markroesportsphysio.co.uk/index.html and go to the training tips page - it will show you how to stretch off/warm up etc to prevent the dreaded dead legs or to give it its technical term DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness). Take care and good luck with your plan!
  6. Hi I've been asked to organise a 11 a side match in aid of help for heroes in mid Feb 2011. Due to the weather and likely fixture back-log, it's been mentioned that it may be best to play on all weather surface to ensure the game goes ahead. One of the teams is paying a substantial amount to play against an army representative side. In order to raise as much money as possible, we are looking for a venue which is of decent standard, but obviously want to pay as little as possible, as there are other costs like officials, trophies etc. If anyone can advise a decent venue or help with trophies, refs, kits etc your help would be greatly appreciated. There is going to be a bigger charity event in July/pre-season time, where we have a few minor celebrity sides set to help with the cause, and will also be looking for a venue with this. Many thanks STC
  7. Hi Could you provide further email details to [email protected] please? As I may be able to help you with free advertising on our website when you get things up and running. Also may be able to offer fitness / exercise tips to players to supplement / improve your USP. Cheers
  8. Hi. If you're not sorted yet, I can recommend James Marvin at the mark roe sports physio academy at gleadless townend. Excellent treatment with immediate results! He's worked with loads of decent people from all levels - professional to grass roots. His details are on http://www.markroesportsphysio.co.uk or http://www.pinacclecondition.co.uk Cheers
  9. Hi all, If you're a Hallam listener you'll no doubt have heard about the Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice Appeal. There has been an excellent response as many have dug deep and found the extra pennies and pounds to help make a difference. We have pledged to make a contribution of £500 if we reach 1000 fans on either Facebook or Twitter - that's 50 pence for every new fan or follower. It is a tall order so even if we don't hit that mark, we'll still make a donation anyway to help the wonderful work that goes on there. So, it couldn't be easier: * Just log on to either http://www.sheffieldtherapycentre.co.uk or http://www.markroesportsphysio.co.uk * Follow the links to either facebook or twitter * Login / Start being a fan or follower * Suggest to your friends - the more fans, the more we'll donate Thanks for reading :) Sheffield Therapy Centre & Sports Injury Clinic Physiotherapy Chiropractic Acupuncture Podiatry Sports Massage http://www.sheffieldtherapycentre.co.uk http://www.markroesportsphysio.co.uk
  10. SHEFFIELD FOOTBALL CLUB's CHARTERED PHYSIOTHERAPIST IS OFFERING A £10 VOUCHERS TO AMATEUR FOOTBALLERS The football season is upon us and we are now busy with pre-season screening sessions and preparing the city's grass roots football players for the new season with our screening service. Based on the success of Fulham FC's model, and focusing on injury prevention/performance improvement. All teams can register for a £10 voucher per player via reception 0114 2390022. I am very passionate about players receiving correct advice and treatment due to my own experiences. I was a pro-footballer in the early 1990’s – a time when ‘physio’s’ were not Chartered. Following 2 cruciate ligament injuries to my knees, I was given the wrong exercises to do for 2 respective seasons. Following this, I have had major muscle imbalance problems, which has subsequently lead to 10 operations in total! This meant I had to retire at 20 years old. My bad experiences prompted me to study at college then University to become Chartered, so I could help people and prevent them going through a similar experience to me. After University, as well as all my NHS experience, I spent the best part of 3 seasons working with Huddersfield Town FC Academy, working with players aged 8 – 19. More recently, I was asked to work at the Soccer Aid 2010 with Robbie Williams, Zinadine Zidane, Luis Figo, Ryan Giggs - and many more. Not sure I can pass that off as work but still!. You can see the photo's on our facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sheffield-United-Kingdom/Sheffield-Therapy-Centre-Sports-Injury-Clinic/123246551026471?v=photos&ref=sgm#!/pages/Sheffield-United-Kingdom/Sheffield-Therapy-Centre-Sports-Injury-Clinic/123246551026471?v=wall&ref=sgm&__a=3&ajaxpipe=1 I have been running my own practice at Gleadless Townend for 3 years now - Sheffield Therapy Centre and the demand for my sports injury services prompted the recent launch of my sports physio specialist service. As well as trying to prevent injuries by providing advice and tailored programmes for you, I treat acute injuries, as well as any longstanding ‘niggles’ that can reduce players’ performance. Also - a word of advice to many teams out there that have "Physio's" advertised on their website that are not actually qualified Physiotherapists. There is potential to get yourself a £5000 fine for doing this as the title is protected and it is a criminal offence - so please, if your club is doing this, save them some cash as I'm sure they are not intentionally trying to mislead anyone. If you are unsure about the credentials, you can check them out at on the Health Professions Council website. To register your team please email your interest to [email protected] or [email protected] Many thanks for taking the time to read my topic!! 11. Sounds like you have a good choice here but if nobody can help I recommend James of JB Property Services. He's done work for me at our clinic and also fitted me a fence, gate, shelves and fixed my internal doors and frames. Not only that, he gets the Dyson out, takes his shoes off on your carpet, turns up on time and tidies up. He's very reasonably priced too! His no is 07814713636.
  12. Hi Richard, We do both sports massage and sports physiotherapy Our Head Physio is consultant physio to Sheffield FC and has recently spent the week with Soccer Aid 2010 teams with Robbie Williams and worked with a whole host of people, including Zinadine Zidane, Ryan Giggs etc so as well as working with the average man or woman off the street, we also work at quite a high level too. (This isn't meant to impress - it is just a way of saying if people of this level trust us, we hope you will too). Check out our websites to see if you think we're what you are looking for - http://www.markroesportsphysio.co.uk & http://www.sheffieldtherapycentre.co.uk and are based in Gleadless (not sure where you are based). We also have our own facebook page which if you join will make you eligible for £5 off your first treatment. http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Sheffield-United-Kingdom/Sheffield-Therapy-Centre-Sports-Injury-Clinic/123246551026471?ref=sgm&ajaxpipe=1&__a=4 Thanks for reading, Sheffield Therapy Centre & Sports Injury Clinic Mark Roe Sports Physio Academy
  13. Hi there - I suppose it depends on where you are all based but I can highly recommend the Hillsborough Club if you are over that way. The place is spotless, they let you do your own catering if you like and the room is spacious - can hold a max of 150 I think. Also - the prices are very very good. See this link for full details and photo's of the venue. http://www.hillsboroughclub.co.uk/our-club/ They also have an outside beer garden if the weather is nice and full size snooker table. Also have a lift for any elderly or anyone that may have injuries etc.... Good luck.
  14. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has any problems which we could use for case studies or top tips for one of our new websites. We do a lot of sports physio and work for/have worked for the likes of Sheffield FC, Clinton Woods, Muse, Cirque du Soleil and many local amateur sports people. The Mark Roe Sports Physio Academy website is up and running and already has a few basic tips on training and injuries but think we can improve. We could populate it with what we 'think' but all good businesses should be asking customers what they would actually like to see rather than what we think you want to see. So - over to you for some ideas. We're already working on various information leaflets to download and dvd's for the basics but is there anything you've always wanted to know for example but never found out or didn't trust the source it came from? Please visit http://www.markroesportsphysio.co.uk/philosophy.html There's also a few quotes from the likes of Lance Armstrong, Mohammed Ali, Michael Jordan etc for motivation if anyone is struggling! Cheers!
