  1. My tomato  plants were planted out in the greenhouse a couple of days earlier than last year in mid April. I didn't get my first tomato off till early August and the way it is going all the plants will  be out before mid September, last year the first ones off were mid July and I was still taking tomatoes off until 10th October.  I have had a good crop and it looks like I will have had a bigger crop than last year, it is just a shame that the harvest will have only been for around 6 weeks.

Not looking likely though it it

    The Championship is brutal

Looking at the transfers on Sky it shows how uneven the Championship is. Saints have paid £10m for a Sunderland player and offered £5m for another of their players, Leeds had a £10m bid for a Celtic player turned down.

Patricia , just seen an old thread you started years ago about a Weed Wand . Was it any good ?  Was it worth buying ? Asking because my lad has a lot of block paving and is having a problem with weeds

I have one of those weed wands, got it off EBay with 8 cannisters of gas, it is good and really burns the weeds to nothing. Although Mares tail takes some shifting and still comes back again. My neighbour has an electric version which seems to be effective. Have you seen the things like strimmers that have a kind of wirehead  disc I think they are especially for block paving?

  4. I saw a strimmer that had various cutters, one of them was a circular saw blade attachment, I need something for under my conifers to cut all the Ash saplings down. The one posted in the link above is I think called a brush cutter, I saw a video of one and it made short work of clearing weeds on some block paving.

  5. Today's line up at Cardiff, they are not doing much better than Wednesday so hopefully can get something out of the game.

  6. Well according to the linked article below Kirklees are raising  the cost of an Electric Vehicle Permit from £0 to £150, they also want to up the parking permits from £15 to £50.  I wonder whether  scc will do something similar.

Regardless of the result in the match played tomorrow involving two teams of women England still will not have won the top prize in football for over 57 years.

If the match played  tomorrow had any importance then the UK prime minister and a member of the Royal Family would be in attendance.  There is no point in beating about the bush and the truth is if the women's match was being played in my back garden tomorrow morning I would not bother opening my curtains.

I just cannot get interested in watching it I didn't watch any of the European Championship  and the only bit I have seen of the world cup was when I called at a mates and he had it on.

  8. Just reading that Djeidi Gassama joins Wednesday, sounds like great potential from reading the various articles.

A lot of clubs have very promising players in their late teens early 20s but don't give them a chance to show what they can do in the first team but will get youngsters around the same age  on loan from PL clubs.

It's something I keep meaning to do now I am in my mid fifties.

I believe you can do it online, anyone got any advice regarding this?

There is Will Aid  where a solicitor will draw up the will for "free" but you make a donation which goes to charity rather than paying the solicitor. I am not sure but I think you can select which charity you want it to go to but I may be wrong on that. I have used them a couple of times, I have just registered to be informed when it starts again as I need to make a change to my will.

  10. I put some slow release food in the pots for the tomatoes and mixed some with the soil I planted the cucumbers in, the cucumber plants have gone wild. There are two of them and they are up to the roof and also halfway down the length of the greenhouse on the  wire that holds the canes for the tomatoes. I have never before had them grow like this, I also feed them with the tomato feed as I always have done. The tomatoes are only just ripening apart from the Black Opal ones which have come on well.
