  1. I have always said this, the Government could have a building commissioned and built with all the necessary security required. When an MP loses their seat the apartment is then given to whoever replaces them. It would be a big outlay but once constructed it would last for years. I don't mind them having somewhere to stay when they down in London but I object to them making money out of the properties that have been part funded by the taxpayer. The taxpayer's are the MP's money tree

    Waiting for cache

Thanks for the replies I will look at crystal disk and try that. I didn't use the laptop for over a year as it kept shutting down, I got a new one and used that and then had problems with it took it back and got a refund. So I took all the files off this one, all my music, pictures and office files along with the family tree software. After I did this the laptop hardly ever switches off and just does it occasionally now. The general speed isn't too bad it seems to have improved after I ran the Chrome reset, apart from it keeps saying not responding. The HD is 320GB and there is just under 200GB of free space I have just run the CrystalDisk software and the Health Status says caution and a temp of 42. The list of attributes all have a blue dot at the side apart from. Current pending sector count. Current 150 worst 150 Threshold 140 Reallocated sectors count . Current 200 worst 200 Threshold 0 Those two have a yellow dot at the side of them. Tried to copy the image of the test and paste it in but won't let me.

    Waiting for cache

I mean it was running for over 2 hours when I left it running to reset to Chrome defaults no idea how long it took because it was another 3 hours before checked and it was finished then. No idea it seemed better yesterday but getting the cache message again and at the top saying not responding, then it is ok after a short period of time. It is also saying establishing secure connection after saying waiting for cache in a white box at the bottom.

    Waiting for cache

Thanks Ghozer, I just had the page open with the settings and did as you said, it was scanning for 2 hours before I went to bed, looked later and it had completed. Seems a lot better this morning, also before the blue LED for the HD seemed to be on all the time now it isn't.

    Light switches wiring diagram required

Were the switches working ok before they were changed or did you have the switches and wiring put in?
  10. Not what you would call an ardent follower of F1 but must say I enjoy watching it, now though unless you have Sky you will only be able to watch the highlights on Ch4. Apart from the British GP which will be shown live on Ch4, to watch the other races it will cost £10pm (and that has been reduced from £18pm) for the privilege of watching on Sky F1. Lewis Hamilton says that it does not make sense to block or deter fans from watching F1. https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/141914/hamilton-critical-of-reduced-free-tv-presence The sport is full of advertising look at the cars, surely by stopping free to air broadcasting the number of viewers will drop and reduce the advertising revenue, personally I can't see the point in sitting watching highlights if you know the result of the race or what has happened in the race.
  11. They won't let people post streaming links, they will remove it. I once asked someone and got a message from the mods saying it wasn't allowed, I would imagine it is still the same now.

  13. A judge in London has let a teen filmed smashing car with zombie knife to walk free from court. What planet are some of these judges on, ok he had a troubled upbringing so do a lot of other kids but they don't try to smash their way into a car with a big knife. No wonder the police have slammed the decision not to lock him up, what deterrent is there when judges let them walk out of court? He walked free on Tuesday following the sentencing hearing on the condition he stays at home at night with his mother for the next nine months. Caesars Wicker. Previous building use?

I just had a look on the link posted and all the different shops in the Wicker now, I can't remember last time I drove down there. I recall there was Woodcock Travel, The Coach House and the Midland Bank all together. I think the Coach house bought the bank when it closed and became part of the restaurant. There was a pub across from there a Whitbread house, was it the Bull and Oak, also there was a Stones pub as well if I remember correctly. There was the cinema Studio7 known for showing adult films which nearly opposite the Station pub.

    New roundabout Moss Way

Didn't know about that but I can't say I am surprised the way the some drivers approach the roundabout from the police station. Like I said it is probably because they can see there is no traffic coming towards the roundabout from straight on so see there will be no one turning right across them and forget that traffic is coming out of BSL.

    Caesars Wicker. Previous building use?

Years since I was down there, on the opposite side from Ceasers the place with the yellow windows where the barbers and the Peace and Love bar is used to be Bennetts fishing tackle shop. I am pretty sure there was an electrical wholesaler in Kam House as well, I remember getting some things from there but can't remember what the company was called.

Noticed today they have put one of those electronic speed display signs up as you approach the roundabout from the police station.

  21. Isn't it marvellous how the Government keep saying there is no money yet they spend £12m on a luxury apartment. Obviously the person who will live there will be doing a lot of entertaining but surely they didn't need to spend that amount of money. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-47717397

  24. If I remember correctly there was a firm in one of the arches on Furnival Road just off what is now DDW that took old tyres, they had a machine that punched discs out of them, not sure but I think they were for the fishing industry. Also there used to be a place round there that made wooden sheds, can't remember if that was in one of the arches or further down. if you look on Google Maps there were still some places on Furnival Road with roller shutter doors, according to the map the imagery is dated 2018.
