  2. Hi just wondering how you knew Madge and Frank Earnshaw. Just saw this post as I was searching info on Stovin road.
  3. I lived on Stovin Road and went to Coleridge Road School...the girls part. Mrs Stribley was our head teacher.
  4. Don't know these people but I knew a Linda Cutts who lived in that area.

  6. Oh I would love to go to our old school reunion, sounds like a lot of fun and seeing old faces once again. Hope you do see Ronnie again and able to mention me to him.
  7. Don't know Les Marples but again I do seem to know the name. As for Ronnie Cashmore they were our neigbours. I was only thinking about him the other day. Do you know if he is still married to Val. Lily his Mum used to look after me from time to time when I was little, lovely woman. If you ever see him again tell him I said hello. So you must be 58 going on 59 this year if you are a year younger than me I will be 60 this year, my god does that sound old. Bet its changed a lot back there, we have been in Canada for 20 years now and never been back to Sheffield.

  11. My Grandmother was Annie (Nancy) Saterthwaite. She did not live there very long and sold the house to my brother in law Alan Smith and his wife Christine.
  12. I remember the flying planks, boy did we used to get them flying. They would never be allowed these days.
  13. Hi atlex48, we must have gone to school at the same time as it did change from Secondary Modern to a High School while I was there. My Grandmother lived at the top of Freeborough Street for a while.
  14. Yes the cellar head was a very useful storage place. I remember the cooked turkey kept there after Christmas dinner as you coud'nt get it in the tiny fridge we had. It was always very cold there especially in winter. I used to teeter over the cellar steps to steel some of the turkey...how I never fell its a miracle.
  15. I went to Coleridge Road High school (girls) left in 1965. The boys school has now been demolished. Before that went to Phillimore Road Junior school.
  16. I still have my Mums pancheon, big old thing. Brought it with me when we moved to Canada 19 years ago. My Mum used to make bread in it when I was a little girl (that was a very long time ago). She used to keep in on a shelf at the top of the celler stairs...used to call that place celler head, anyone else heard of that term?
  17. Yes I remember the fair that used to come yearly on Coleridge. I lived on Stovin Rd off Coleridge and used to love to go there every night as I was just a teenager then...I met my husband there.
  18. Any one on here go to Coleridge road school in the 60's. I was in Miss Elstons class....anyone remember her?
  19. yes Robbiet I remember Dr's Wainwright and Gethin. I too always wanted to see Gethin as I was scared stiff of Wainwright. Remember the picture in the waiting room of the doctor leaning over a child sick in bed...so depressing.
  20. My hubby is from Attercliffe and lived there in the 1960's on Baltic Rd. next to Banners...he was in his teen's then. I have been trying to find anyone who might remember him...His name is John Smith and he has a twin brother called Alan. We now live in Canada and he would love to get in touch with any of his old friends. Wendy
  21. The Alan Smith we are talking about lived on Baltic Road next to Banners and I am married to his twin brother John. They lived on Attercliffe in the 60's. John is looking for anyone who may remember them...We now live in Canada.

  23. I am looking for anyone who lived around Attercliffe in the 60's...I used to live on Baltic road at the side of Banners and If you remember John and Alan Smith.
  24. looking for anyone who lived on Attercliffe and knew John and Alan Smith on Baltic Road. Looking for old friends, Billy Dyson, Jackie Driver, Denis Denial, Fred Keyworth, Stuart Pim, Alan Johnson are just a few names I can remember.
