  1. Easy guys, I'm not wanting wagon drivers to be nailed to a cross, I just think there are times that they could think a bit outside the box and let a queue past. I've had plenty of very positive experiences of polite, considerate HGV drivers, and I'm not knocking everybody, but you both know that the sort of situation where two wagons get stuck side by side, one gaining uphill and the other downhill by half a length - for several miles, is wrong. Surely ?!
  2. It is, but there does seem to be an awful lot of them!
  3. I didn't choose that career, so I won't. the fact remains that anybody happy to inconvenience and frustrate evrybody else on the road for the sake of a few seconds should take a step bakc and reconsider how he approaches life. Nobody wants wagon drivers to lose an average 5 or 10mph on a run, just drop 2 mph for a few seconds now and then while the other wagon gets past. Painless, easy and considerate.
  4. Lots of the people on here with major issues and psychological problems manage to share thoughts with similarly-troubled souls, and find some solace. That's a good thing, isn't it?
  5. Good point - let's leave the murderers 'til last!!
  6. The many thousands of people who are delayed each day by wagon after wagon doing what the OP described. They, too, have homes to go to.
  7. Can we flip a coin over who pulls the lever - I'd quite like to do a few!
  8. Don't get me wrong here, I know that it's hard work and I'm aware of the pressures to make time and get where you have to be, but to knowingly hold up dozens and dozens of other people for the sake of a few seconds for one person is unspeakably selfish. Remember that if all HGV drivers were to try a little of the new-fangled courtesy thing, they'd be helping each other as well as the car drivers.
  9. I'm sorry, but if mechanics and technicians call themselves engineers, they are wrong. If a nursing assistant said they were a doctor, they'd be wrong too - should we allow blatant inaccuracy without correcting it?
  10. Not just mine, the big queue of many vehicles - wagons included - that he's holding up.
  11. So he's happy to hold up dozens or hundreds of vehicles for 10 miles of being stuck next to another wagon, costing all of them minutes, for the sake of 5 seconds just for himself? That's why wagons should be restricted to only the left lane on dual carriageways and motorways.
  12. It's pretty good at cutting reoffence rates though.
  13. Your example is exactly the sort of mis-description that causes the problems.
  14. The simple truth, that many do not wish to acknowledge, is that they are not ready for independence.
